OverviewResponsibilities
As a Technical Writer II with AMERICAN SYSTEMS you will have the opportunity to do the following:
- Work with the technical implementation teams to understand the product document requirements.
- Assist in the creation and submission of documentation required for compliance with our Quality Management System.
- Assist in establishing and continuously improving the standardization and simplification of technical writing processes, procedures, and style guidelines.
- Contribute to documentation development lifecycle improvements
- Convert legacy/previous formatting to latest formatting/style guidelines.
- Create documentation based on standardized templates.
- Analyze and edit content to maintain continuity of style and content.
- Assess the audience needs for whom the technical and procedural documentation is intended.
- Conduct document reviews and collect input from stakeholders.
- Create data flow diagrams, component diagrams, and similar technical illustrations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems.
- Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret clearance (US citizenship required).
- At least 2 (two) years of experience in: Writing technical reports, analyzing technical literature, writing descriptive copy, and verifying documentation with appropriate sources.
- Ability to use various word-processing and desktop publishing software applications. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required. Familiarity with Arbortext Editor, Adobe CC, Adobe Acrobat, HTML, and XML.S1000D specification to produce technical publications preferred.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Active SECRET Clearance and US Citizenship
Pay Transparency StatementAMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $80,000.00/Yr. - USD $105,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
