Technical Trainer, Midwest

Location: Chicago, Illinois

Travel: This position requires approximately 65% to 75% travel, including domestic and international travel, sometimes on short notice.

As a Technical Trainer, you will be a trusted technical resource, educator, and ambassador for Axis. You will help customers and partners build the knowledge and confidence they need to succeed with Axis products and IP network technologies.

You will lead engaging in person and virtual training experiences, deliver webinars and podcasts, and continuously improve educational content to meet the evolving needs of our customers and the industries we serve. No two days will look exactly alike. You will combine technical expertise, creativity, communication, and relationship building to help others succeed.

Deliver exceptional learning experiences

• Lead engaging in person and remote technical training sessions, courses, webinars, and podcasts.
• Make complex technical concepts approachable, relevant, and practical for diverse audiences.
• Adapt your presentation style and approach to meet different learning needs and respond in the moment.

Turn technical knowledge into real world impact

• Develop, update, and refine training materials to reflect evolving products, technologies, and customer needs.
• Research industry trends and understand how different markets can benefit from Axis solutions.
• Assess training needs and contribute to the development of relevant, effective learning programs.
• Gather and evaluate customer feedback to continually improve the training experience.

Build relationships and represent Axis

• Serve as an ambassador for Axis training programs, products, and new technology initiatives.
• Establish strong relationships with customers, partners, and internal teams.
• Collaborate with colleagues to share knowledge, strengthen technical capabilities, and support business objectives.

Create an outstanding training environment

• Maintain training facilities, equipment, and technology to ensure a professional and effective learning experience.
• Take ownership of training preparation, delivery, and continuous improvement.

We are looking for someone who combines technical curiosity with a genuine passion for helping others learn.

• Four or more years of experience in technical training, education, or a related field.
• A technical background in IP technologies, networking, or a strong passion for learning and teaching technical concepts.
• Knowledge of networking technologies, including switching or routing.
• Strong public speaking, presentation, and communication skills.
• The ability to engage an audience, adapt to changing classroom needs, and make technical information easy to understand.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills.
• A self motivated, resourceful, flexible, and detail oriented approach.
• A collaborative mindset and the confidence to take initiative.

Experience in one or more of the following areas is a plus:

• Network video surveillance, CCTV, or IP network cameras.
• Technical support, technical sales, or customer education.
• Industry sectors such as healthcare, education, retail, banking, or government.
• Relevant technical certifications, such as networking or security industry credentials.
• A degree in a related technical or educational field.

The approximate compensation range for this position is $90,000 to $100,000 in Total Target Compensation.

Actual compensation will depend on factors including qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and work location.
