The role is responsible for enabling OEM specification-in by generating application-relevant performance data, bridging polymer science with seal performance, and supporting strategic go-to-market execution. This role moves beyond traditional technical service by creating new internal capabilities critical to long-term growth in semiconductor markets.

Essential Functions:
  • Lead development of seal-relevant FFKM application data including compression set, plasma resistance, cryogenic behavior, and thermal limits
  • Translate material properties into application-level performance evidence for semiconductor OEM evaluation
  • Develop and optimize FFKM compound formulations, including mixing, milling, molding, and cure processes
  • Bridge laboratory development work to manufacturing feasibility and scalability
  • Serve as technical lead for semiconductor OEM and seal manufacturer engagements supporting new platform qualification
  • Translate laboratory results into customer-facing technical narratives supporting specification-in
  • Act as primary technical interface between global R&D (Japan), Exton application teams, and commercial teams
  • Define standards for market-ready application data and internal testing methodologies
  • identify and execute development programs aligned with semiconductor go-to-market strategy
  • Develop and deliver technical presentations and publications for targeted industry trade shows, conferences, and webinars, and support technical reviews for prospective, new, and existing customers
  • Contribute to long-term capability development and knowledge transfer across adjacent application areas
  • May supervise technicians or junior engineers, with primary focus on technical leadership rather than people management

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree Chemistry, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in elastomer or high-performance polymer applications.
  • Hands-on experience with elastomer compounding and molding processes
  • Strong experimental and problem-solving skills in applied materials development
  • Practical understanding of fillers, cure systems, and processing trade-offs
  • Ability to connect material properties to processing behavior and application performance
  • Experience bridging laboratory work to real-world manufacturing and application constraints
  • Capability to independently design, execute, and interpret experimental programs
  • Ability to operate laboratory and pilot-scale equipment

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of being stationary at a desk and working on a computer and various office equipment and in a laboratory environment
  • Ability to navigate various locations and settings of the company, including traveling from one worksite to another.
  • Occasional travel to customer and manufacturing sites.
