Group 93, Space Tactics and Test, enables decisive space-domain action through the development, operation and test of integrated sensing, command and control, and response systems. The space domain and the services provided by our Nation's satellites are critical to the joint fight and the American way-of-life. Increasingly these services and satellites are threatened by our global competitors. Job Description

Technical Staff:

Group 93 is seeking a uniquely skilled individual to join our team as a member of the Technical Staff. In this role, you will leverage both your technical proficiency and deep understanding of military and other government space operations to help develop, architect, and execute the group's technical initiatives. You will understand the technical approaches to solve very specific military problems, design achievable technical solutions, lead the execution of a program to develop them, and demonstrate through experiments, exercises, briefings, and test events the effectiveness of the solution. This role may involve direct and individual technical contributions, establishing strong connections between the group and military users, or leading a team of researchers to build the solution. The most effective staff may perform all these tasks to some degree, even when prioritizing one function.

Requirements:
  • Doctorate or equivalent in Physics, Mathematics or Applied Mathematics. In lieu of PhD a Masters with at least 3 years of experience will be considered
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technical areas and apply that knowledge effectively to solve challenging mission problems
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly present technical concepts to a wide spectrum of audiences
  • Proficient at using high level programming languages (Python, Java, etc.) to solve complex scientific or engineering modeling or data analysis problems
  • Demonstrated ability to follow a technical notion through its lifecycle of development through to application to real data or problem.
  • Experience in technical work in large or medium sized teams
  • The ability to balance and prioritize multiple projects at once
  • Intellectual curiosity and desire to lead exploration into new technical areas in support of the group's mission


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Published work in a technical area related to the Group's mission, such as, signal processing, dynamical modeling, high volume data analytics
  • Knowledge of optical, radar or passive RF sensors
  • Understanding of orbital astrodynamics
  • Design and execution of complex scientific experiments (real-world or simulated)
  • Mentoring junior or less experience staff members
  • Experience in team leadership and project management

Recent Graduate Hiring Range: $145,200-$170,000
Experienced Hiring Range: $145,200-$220,000
