What You Will Do:
The Technical SETA will provide support in the execution of the lifecycle of a research program from development, source selection, execution, closeout, and transition. The Technical SETA will be responsible for attending meetings, workshops, conferences, and testing events as the Subject Matter Expert.
In this role, the Technical SETA will serve as the Subject Matter Expert in space science and space systems, with specialization in space environment effects, satellite systems and subsystems, spacebased sensing modalities, and the analysis of geophysical and heliophysical data.
What You Will Need:
- An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED TS/SCI Federal or DoD security clearance with a polygraph
- Bachelors degree in computer science, applied physics, electrical engineering, systems engineering, or a related technical field. A Masters degree may be used in lieu of TWO (2) years of relevant work experience.
- SIX (6)years experience in space systems engineering, mission design, or space operations. Experiences should include, but not be limited to:
- Working knowledge of satellite constellation operations, orbital mechanics, and space environmental effects on space-based assets
- Familiarity with satellite subsystems (e.g., power, propulsion, attitude control, communications, payloads) and their vulnerabilities to space environment disturbances
- Understanding of space domain awareness approaches and systems
- Familiarity with space environment sensing modalities (e.g., coronagraphs, magnetometers, particle detectors, ionospheric sounders, GNSS receivers)
What Would Be Nice To Have:
- Masters degree or PhD in computer science, applied physics, electrical engineering, systems engineering, or related fields, with FOUR (4) or more years of work experience
- TWO (2) years of experience in the Intelligence Community (IC), including experience with requirements, CONOPS, and transition
- Knowledge of space weather phenomena and their effects on space systems, communications, navigation, and ground-based infrastructure
- Understanding of the Sun-Earth system, including solar activity, solar wind, magnetosphere, ionosphere, and thermosphere interactions Experience with geophysical data types, formats, and sources (e.g., NOAA SWPC, NASA heliophysics missions, ionospheric networks)
The annual salary range for this position is $113,000.00-$188,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
