What this job involves:
As a Technical Project Manager at JLL supporting Amazon Global Real Estate & Facilities account, you will support the delivery of construction and real estate projects. This role supports Amazon’s expansion into aerospace, life sciences, robotics, quantum computing, devices, and government industry sectors by supporting new construction, renovations, and facility modifications.
You will work within an active advanced manufacturing facility, managing the planning, design, and delivery of infrastructure projects that directly support production operations. You will own project lifecycles—from scope definition through procurement, bidding, and installation—working daily on the production floor and coordinating directly with contractors, architects, engineers, and vendors.
This role calls for strong project management fundamentals, including budgeting, scheduling, RFP development, contract and change-order negotiation, and stakeholder management, combined with practical experience coordinating electrical, mechanical, and facility systems work across multiple trades. Your responsibilities will extend to overseeing construction, equipment installation, and heavy equipment relocation.
Ideal candidates bring formal project management discipline to a technical, equipment-heavy manufacturing environment, with strong financial and contractual experience — not solely a facilities or maintenance background. This position offers the opportunity to build strong client relationships while delivering infrastructure solutions that keep production running smoothly. This is not a software, IT systems, cloud migration, or digital transformation role.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Lead end-to-end delivery of infrastructure and equipment projects supporting active manufacturing production, from scope definition through completion
- Develop and manage project budgets, cost forecasting, and financial tracking across concurrent initiatives
- Draft and issue RFPs for general contractor bids; manage the procurement process for specialized equipment and construction services
- Review, negotiate, and administer contracts, change orders, and vendor invoices
- Develop and maintain project schedules, coordinating design, permitting, procurement, and installation phases
- Coordinate installation and integration of heavy production equipment within a manufacturing environment
- Manage infrastructure modifications required to support equipment installs, including specialty utility systems, electrical systems, and HVAC
- Oversee relocation of large equipment within the facility, coordinating rigging, anchoring, and utility reconnection
- Manage build-out and demolition of rooms (e.g., storage rooms, cleanrooms, production support spaces)
- Coordinate electrical scope across projects, working directly with electrical contractors and engineers
- Serve as the primary point of contact between production teams, engineering, and external contractors/vendors
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders across production, facilities, and engineering functions
- Source, evaluate, and hire contractors and specialty trade teams for infrastructure and construction projects
- Manage contractor performance, permitting, and compliance throughout project execution.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution
- 5+ years of project management experience in construction, industrial facilities, or manufacturing infrastructure environments
- Demonstrated experience managing project budgets, cost forecasting, RFP development, bidding, and contract/change order negotiation
- Strong schedule management experience using tools such as Procore, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or similar
- Experience coordinating electrical, mechanical, and utility infrastructure projects
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced, production-driven environment
- Strong stakeholder and vendor management skills, with the ability to work daily on a production floor alongside operations teams
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage differing business needs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
- Experience in aerospace, defense, semiconductor, or advanced manufacturing environments
- Experience with specialized equipment integration in a production/manufacturing setting
- PMP certification
- Experience with construction management software and project tracking tools
- Strong contract negotiation skills with consultants, contractors, and vendors
