ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Technical Project Manager to join our team supporting the Los Alamos National Laboratory! This position is full-time and will be based out of Los Alamos, New Mexico.

Responsibilities
  • Support project scheduling using Primavera P6, including data quality checks, integration tasks, and schedule analysis.
  • Support project cost management using Cobra and EVMS processes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across technical and business domains to align solutions with project objectives.
  • Manage and ensure the timely completion of discrete technical or operational projects; establish technical requirements for the project; define project deliverables, budgets, and schedules; and oversee the project team in the planning, tracking, and execution of the project from initiation to completion.
  • Produce specific products or provide services to meet customer's requirements.
  • Develop or maintain processes to meet specific programmatic needs and produce the work products defined by the hiring manager.
  • Responsible for cost analysis/control and planning and scheduling activities for projects or programs with significant non-routine requirements or for discipline/projects/programs/proposal cost and planning activities which require a high degree of technical skilled experience.
  • Demonstrate skill in identifying, analyzing, and providing innovative solutions to cost and schedule guidance to projects and programs.
  • Ensure work is completed as scheduled. Identification of cost trends for management attention.

Requirements
  • Education & Years of Experience - Bachelor's Degree in and 8+ years of relevant experience; additional, relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Citizenship - To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work.
  • Clearance - To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Demonstrated initiative and independence-able to take a concept from idea to delivered product without heavy direction.
  • Strong communication skills across both technical and business contexts.
  • Experience in project controls within DOE/NNSA.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a continuous-improvement mindset.

Desired Skills
  • Knowledge of LANL Project Controls procedures, policies, and processes, and DOE O 413.3B EVMS requirements highly desirable.

About the Site

The NNSA's Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), located in Los Alamos, New Mexico, is a design laboratory responsible for the safety and reliability of the nuclear explosives package in nuclear weapons. This lab possesses unique capabilities in neutron scattering, enhanced surveillance, radiography, and plutonium science and engineering (energy.gov).
