Opportunity OverviewTeradyne is seeking an experienced and dynamic
Technical Program Manager to join the SiPhTest Solutions team in North Reading, MA. This hands-on leadership role combines technical program ownership with people leadership, supporting the design, development, and deployment of advanced optical test solutions for the Silicon Photonics market.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in semiconductor test equipment, optical system design, and technical project management. This role requires a player-coach mindset: leading key projects directly while managing and developing technical project leads responsible for delivering complex customer-focused solutions.
- Lead and manage projects involving the design, development, and deployment of optical test systems.
- Directly manage and oversee technical project managers reporting into this position.
- Mentor and coach technical project managers to build a strong team capable of executing multiple Silicon Photonics initiatives.
- Serve as the central point of contact for Silicon Photonics projects and provide department-level summary updates to senior management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, systems engineering, design engineering, and operations, to ensure project milestones are met.
- Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, and monitor progress against established metrics.
- Identify and mitigate risks and challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
- Communicate project status, updates, risks, and issues to stakeholders, senior management, and customers.
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members and customers.
- Manage project documentation, including specifications, design documents, test plans, and reports.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and innovation within the project team.

- Bachelor's degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline; master's degree preferred. Certifications in optical engineering are a plus.
- 12+ years of experience in engineering design or management, optical systems design, and technical project management.
- Project management certification, such as PMP or PRINCE2, preferred.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex technical projects from inception to completion.
- Strong understanding of optical principles, systems, and technologies.
- Proficiency with project management tools and software, such as Primavera or Microsoft Project.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Compensation:The base salary range for this role is $189,800-$303,700. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.
Incentive Plan: This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
