The Opportunity

Oura is seeking an experienced and highly strategic Staff Technical Program Manager (TPM) to join our Hardware Program Management group to drive the hardware and firmware implementation of cutting-edge, health-focused sensing technologies and serve as a key integrator between sensing, science, software, and design. The role is centered within hardware engineering and works collaboratively with other TPMs, Hardware System EPMs, and product managers across all disciplines. This position reports to the Senior Director of Engineering Program Management.

In this role, you are the execution lead for hardware, firmware, and system integration touchpoints: you ensure that sensing solutions are architected, implemented, and validated to meet requirements, schedules, and quality bars. You work in tight partnership with Product Management, who own end-to-end feature definition, prioritization, and customer outcomes, and with domain TPMs in software, science, and other areas, who own execution within their respective teams.

This Staff-level role requires not just exceptional execution, but also the ability to drive technical excellence, anticipate challenges far in advance, and mentor others. If you are a master of navigating intricate technical landscapes, a natural leader and communicator, and possess a deep understanding of the end-to-end product development lifecycle for integrated hardware/software systems, we want to hear from you.
What You'll Do
  • Drive HW/FW & Integration Programs: Drive hardware and firmware planning and execution, and cross-functional integration for complex health sensing features across hardware, firmware, software, science, and design - from concept to launch, in partnership with Product, Program Management and Engineering teams.
  • Coordinate System Integration & Test: In close collaboration with software, science, and other TPMs, define and drive system-level integration and test plans that validate end-to-end sensing behavior; ensure HW/FW readiness, clear interfaces, and well-owned integration milestones across teams.
  • Partner with Product Management: Collaborate closely with product managers, who own product vision, feature roadmaps, and customer outcomes, to translate requirements into HW/FW scope and integration plans, surface options and tradeoffs, and align on decisions and priorities.
  • Plan & Execute: Build and maintain schedules, dependencies, and risk mitigation plans for HW/FW and integration touchpoints; proactively clear roadblocks and drive accountability across engineering teams.
  • Support NPI Builds: Contribute to NPI build planning and execution to ensure sensing build goals, coverage, and readiness criteria are clearly defined and met across phases.
  • Communicate: Provide clear, tailored updates to executives, engineers, and partners; align on strategy, integration status, and progress.
  • Manage Vendors: Oversee key external partners for sensor and hardware/firmware development and manufacturing, ensuring deliverables meet technical and schedule requirements while partnering closely with the Global Sourcing team.
  • Ensure Quality: Own HW/FW and system integration testing and validation standards to deliver reliable, high-quality sensing performance and product behavior.
What You'll Bring
  • 10+ years experience driving hardware and firmware programs and leading integration across hardware, firmware, software and manufacturing through the full product lifecycle.
  • Proven track record shipping innovative products with sensing components (consumer electronics/health tech preferred).
  • Strong technical depth in EE, ME, firmware; able to drive architecture discussions and technical tradeoffs within HW/FW and at system integration boundaries.
  • Hardware + Software expertise: Skilled in NPI, prototyping, validation, scalable production, and Agile software development.
  • Cross-disciplinary collaboration: Experienced working with research, science, and design teams to turn insights into integrated, hardware-backed product experiences.
  • Excellent communicator with strong negotiation, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Advanced PM tool proficiency (Linear, Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet) and ability to optimize workflows.
  • Thrives in ambiguity, fast-moving environments, and global cross-timezone programs.
  • Passion for health, wellness, and wearable technology.
Nice to Have
  • Experience with regulated medical devices (ISO 13485, FDA).
  • Knowledge of advanced health sensors and ultra-low-power development.
  • Experience with global manufacturing and supply chains.

Note: Up to 25% global travel is required for this position.
  • Region 1 $198,050 - $233,000
  • Region 2 $180,200 - $212,000
  • Region 3 $169,150 - $199,000
