Role Overview

As a Business Analyst, with a focus on AI-Enabled Delivery at BMO, you will play a critical role in bridging business needs, technology solutions, and emerging Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities. Working closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, product owners, architects, developers, and quality engineering teams, you will leverage both traditional business analysis practices and AI-powered tools to accelerate delivery, improve decision-making, enhance requirements quality, and optimize business outcomes.

This role extends beyond traditional business analysis by incorporating Generative AI (Gen AI) and AI-assisted delivery practices throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). You will utilize AI to support requirements elicitation, process analysis, documentation creation, impact assessments, test case generation, knowledge management, user story development, solution validation, and delivery acceleration while ensuring responsible and secure AI usage.

The ideal candidate possesses strong business analysis skills, stakeholder management capabilities, and hands-on experience utilizing AI technologies and AI-assisted tools across multiple SDLC phases.

Key Responsibilities

• Business Analysis & Solution Delivery
  • Elicit, analyze, validate, and document business requirements to support strategic technology initiatives.
  • Translate business needs into clear functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to ensure solutions align with business objectives and expected outcomes.
  • Conduct current-state and future-state assessments and identify opportunities for business process optimization.
  • Perform gap analysis, impact assessments, root cause analysis, and feasibility studies.
  • Support teams throughout the delivery lifecycle, ensuring requirements remain aligned with evolving business priorities.
  • Facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews, and requirements discovery sessions.
  • Build and maintain project artifacts including business requirements documents, user stories, workflow diagrams, process maps, and operational procedures.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), System Integration Testing (SIT), and End-to-End testing activities.

• AI-Enabled Business Analysis
  • Leverage Generative AI tools to accelerate requirements gathering, analysis, documentation, and stakeholder communications.
  • Utilize AI-assisted platforms such as Microsoft Copilot or equivalent enterprise AI tools.
  • Apply prompt engineering techniques to improve quality, consistency, and completeness of business analysis deliverables.
  • Partner with delivery teams to identify opportunities for AI-driven process improvements and business efficiencies.
  • Evaluate AI-generated outputs for accuracy, compliance, traceability, security, and business relevance before adoption.
  • Contribute to AI-enabled delivery practices and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
  • Support AI adoption by educating stakeholders on practical business use cases and responsible AI practices.

• 4-6 years of Business Analysis experience in financial services, technology, or large enterprise environments.
• Minimum 2-3 years of practical experience using AI-enabled solutions and Generative AI tools in business analysis or delivery roles.
• Experience supporting Waterfall, Agile, or Hybrid delivery methodologies.
• Knowledge of Financial Services/Banking systems (e.g., loan servicing systems, financial products) (LoanIQ Preferred)
• Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC).
• API Integration & understanding of services (REST/SOAP)
• System architecture concepts & data flow mapping
• Understanding of core AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC)
• Experience working with cross-functional teams including Product Owners, Architects, Developers, QA teams, and business stakeholders.
• Proven track record of requirements management, stakeholder engagement, process analysis, and solution delivery.
• Experience facilitating workshops and managing multiple stakeholders across varying levels of the organization.
• Post-secondary degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
