Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesCandidates must be willing to participate in at least one in-person interview.As a core member of the technical operations team, this role focuses on maintaining optimal performance for the Hughes in-flight connectivity system on commercial aircraft. The position drives the execution of reliability and system performance monitoring programs while analyzing technical data to identify emerging failure patterns and performance trends. By collaborating cross-functionally with maintenance support groups, hardware suppliers, and airlines, the role delivers data-driven solutions and process improvements that maximize component reliability and system uptime.
What Success Looks Like (Objectives):- Execute reliability tools and metrics aligned with customer requirements to improve overall in-flight connectivity system availability across commercial fleets
- Analyze component removal reports, maintenance logs, and part replacement data to uncover primary failure modes and correlations
- Develop and recommend enhanced maintenance practices and procedures for the Maintenance Control Center (MCC), customers, and vendors
- Implement distinct fault categories for aircraft components to streamline fault tracking and root cause analysis
- Leverage statistical modeling and predictive maintenance methodologies to forecast and mitigate emerging hardware failure trends
- Collaborate with development teams and hardware suppliers to ensure accuracy in reliability metrics and successfully implement performance enhancements
Skills, Experience and RequirementsCore Skills and Competencies (What you'll bring):- Technical expertise in aircraft systems or avionics component reliability engineering
- Deep understanding of aerospace reliability methodologies, including MTBF, MTBUR, NFF, RFR, root cause analysis, and Pareto distributions
- Ability to interpret complex aircraft systems manuals, maintenance logs, and component repair reports to recommend procedural changes
- Proficiency in collecting, querying, and analyzing technical data across multiple enterprise databases and tracking tools
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills to partner effectively with operations teams, external vendors, and airline customers
- AI application skills to optimize statistical modeling, automate fault categorization, and enhance predictive maintenance workflows
Additional Qualifications:- Prior exposure to airline maintenance operations within a technical engineering or maintenance environment
- Hands-on experience working directly in an aircraft component maintenance facility
Minimum Requirements:- Minimum Experience: 5+ years of experience in reliability engineering of aircraft systems or avionics components

Salary RangesCompensation: $85,500.00/Year - $114,000.00/Year
