ABOUT THE ROLE

The Technical Accountant III is responsible for supporting the company's accounting and financial reporting functions, including general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. This role prepares and reviews financial statements and related reporting, researches and documents complex accounting matters, and ensures compliance with U.S. GAAP. The Technical Accountant III partners with cross-functional teams to evaluate the accounting implications of significant transactions, supports external audits, and contributes to the accurate and timely reporting of the company's financial results and strategic initiatives.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Manage day-to-day general accounting operations and support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, general ledger activity, and account reconciliations in accordance with company policy and U.S. GAAP.
  • Prepare financial statements and related reporting packages, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial information provided to management, lenders, and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare financial statement disclosures and management reporting materials, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and other applicable reporting requirements.
  • Serve as a liaison with external auditors during audits and reviews, providing support for complex accounting positions, transaction analyses, technical accounting memorandums, and financial statement disclosures.
  • Lead or support the accounting and financial reporting for significant corporate transactions.
  • Research, analyze, and document technical accounting matters and complex transactions, including debt issuances and modifications, equity transactions, derivatives and hedging activities, business combinations, goodwill and impairment assessments, lease accounting, and other significant accounting issues; develop and recommend accounting conclusions in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Prepare and review technical accounting memoranda, accounting policies, and position papers to document accounting conclusions for complex and non-routine transactions.
  • Partner with Treasury, Legal, Tax, FP&A, and business stakeholders to assess the accounting and reporting implications of proposed transactions and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.


WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

Education / Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a closely related field, often including coursework in principles of accounting, intermediate and advanced accounting, corporate accounting, or cost accounting.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credentials may be required or preferred.
  • Typically requires 4-7 years of relevant accounting experience, demonstrating increasing responsibility and independence
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and analytical skills are essential

Skills and Experience
  • Works independently on complex tasks but collaborates with other departments and staff to ensure accurate financial management
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software and financial systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret financial data and develop solutions.
  • Ability to supervise and mentor junior staff effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills for reporting, advising, and coordinating with multiple departments.


Where you will work

This role falls into our hybrid work model, which is 2-days work from home (Friday and Monday) and 3-days in the office (Tuesday through Thursday) to optimize collaboration, relationship building and key stakeholder engagement and may require some travel as needed.

Compensation

The pay range offered for this position is $85400 - $117400 annually. A candidate's offer is determined by various factors including but not limited to, depth of experience, role-related knowledge and skills, relevant education or training, internal alignment, and work location. Depending on the position offered, the compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of a discretionary annual cash bonus or commissions, and equity incentives
