Job Description Investment Analyst III/IV (Investment Analyst) Performs highly complex and/or advanced fundamental investment research and analysis work. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Essential Job DutiesThis position: - Perform investment analysis based on company asset reporting.
- Perform investment analysis, including drafting summary reports, of investments and investment strategies principlesbased reserves, asset adequacy analysis, and other Valuation Manual requirements during targeted examinations of life and health companies.
- Review workpapers and reports prepared by others.
- Perform monitoring and document material developments for investments and investment strategies supporting principlesbased reserves, asset adequacy analysis, and other Valuation Manual requirements between targeted examinations of life and health companies.
- Perform analysis of investments and investment strategies related to specific transactions and agreements as needed to determine appropriateness, compliance with requirements, and appropriate financial statement presentation.
- Participate in special projects as assigned such as developing or revising rules, legislation, actuarial guidelines, and Valuation Manual requirements.
- Participate in comprehensive financial examinations of life & health companies and other related entities and prepare summaries to support examination reports and workpapers.
- Provide feedback, coaching, guidance, and technical assistance to others as applicable. Performs other duties as assigned.
- Research and advise team members on examination best practices.
- Complete relevant continuing education, including meeting the minimum requirement to maintain any credentials.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum QualificationsThis position requires: - Investment Analyst III:
- Graduation from an accredited fouryear college or university, preferably with a major in statistics, mathematics or actuarial science, insurance, or related field.
- A minimum of three (3) years of relevant investment or actuarial (with an investments focus) work experience.
- Investment Analyst IV:
- Graduation from an accredited fouryear college or university, preferably with a major in statistics, mathematics, finance, economics, actuarial science, or related field.
- A minimum of three and a half (3.5) years of relevant investment or actuarial (with an investment focus) work experience.
- Regular work attendance.
- Travel may be required for up to 25% of the time.If travel is 10% or more, you must maintain a state of Texas Driver's License.
Must hold at least one of the following professional qualifications or associations: - Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA or FSA), CPA, CFA, CIMA, or CAIA.
Must be eligible for the bondrelated provisions of Insurance Code Section 401.106 and take the oath required by Insurance Code Section 401.105 .
Additional job details: This position may be eligible for hybrid telecommuting. Employees must have a secure, dedicated workspace with Internet service, ability to maintain a reliable consistent work schedule, and be available for weekly meetings and group collaboration via Microsoft Teams and other applications during regular business hours.
Monthly starting salary:
- Investment Analyst III= $9,641. 80
- Investment Analyst IV = $11,484.37
