Full Job Description
We are seeking a Tax Senior Manager to join our team!

Senior Managers are responsible to Partners and Directors. Senior Managers have demonstrated sustained success in managing complex client relationships, ensuring engagement quality, and developing high-performing teams. Responsibilities of Senior Managers are similar to those of Directors, with the primary distinction being the scope, consistency, and breadth of responsibility.

Senior Managers provide leadership across multiple engagements and client relationships and serve as trusted advisors to clients and Firm leadership. They oversee Managers and engagement teams, manage complex and high-risk situations, and contribute to Firm initiatives related to quality, growth, and strategic priorities. Senior Managers demonstrate advanced technical expertise, professional judgment, and maturity, and actively develop Managers and other team members through coaching, feedback, and mentorship.

What your day looks like:
  • Provides advanced technical oversight across multiple tax engagements and client relationships.
  • Performs high-level and quality reviews of complex tax returns and related workpapers, as assigned.
  • Advises clients and engagement teams on complex tax planning, compliance, and issue-resolution matters.
  • Serves as a technical and escalation resource to Managers and engagement teams on complex or high-risk tax issues.
  • Ensures consistency, quality, and compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and Firm standards across assigned client portfolios.
  • Provides leadership and oversight across multiple engagements and client relationships, ensuring quality, consistency, and adherence to Firm standards.
  • Oversees Managers and engagement teams, providing guidance on complex engagement, client, staffing, and resource matters.
  • Serves as the primary escalation point for high-risk, complex, or sensitive engagement and client issues.
  • Performs quality-level and risk-focused reviews of engagement deliverables, as assigned.
  • Actively develops Managers through feedback and performance guidance.
  • Manages multiple engagements and ensures effective coordination across teams and ensures effective coordination across teams.
  • Maintains significant client relationships and supports long-term client satisfaction and retention.
  • Assists with billing and realization activities for assigned clients.
  • Participates in Firm initiatives related to quality control, growth, operational improvement, and strategic priorities.
  • Supports the development and growth of managers through coaching, feedback, and delegation of complex assignments.
  • Participates in proposals, practice development, and marketing activities, as appropriate.
  • Participates as needed in administrative activities of the Firm.
  • Maintains firm confidentiality.
  • Follows firm policies by conforming to procedures outlined in the Associate Handbook.
  • Develops an understanding of the firm's vision, plan, and strategies and their role in achieving them.
  • Works sufficient hours needed in order to complete projects assigned.

What you need for this role:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of public accounting experience preferred.
  • CPA designation presumptively mandatory, but alternative credentials and experience considered.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Preferred experience in firm-supported software applications.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage client relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor, and develop Managers and engagement teams.
  • Visible involvement in business, professional, or niche communities.
  • Willingness to remain current through continuing professional education and ongoing professional development.
