The opportunity

This team comprises our most highly specialized resources in the area of ASC 740, provision process and internal controls over the tax provision. As a member, you will work closely with our leaders to serve companies that need assistance with tax accounting for transactions or their on-going tax provision process. As you progress, you'll become a trusted business advisor to your clients while helping organizations grow. You will also benefit from being mentored by recognized tax professionals who include some of the firm's most senior tax talent.

As a Tax Accounting and Risk Senior, you will help organizations meet tax regulatory requirements, enhance their tax control environment, and manage tax risks by providing advisory services. You'll also assist companies with all aspects of their preparation of the tax provision. In addition, you'll also have the opportunity to review the tax provision process to improve efficiency and accuracy and assessing tax risk and control environments inclusive of and beyond the boundaries of Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404. You will help identify, recommend, and assist in implementing improvements to tax reporting, compliance, and accounting processes for better compliance and business performance.

Your key responsibilities

In this role, your core purpose is to contribute to the delivery of processes, solutions, and projects by executing agreed activities, applying judgment, and selecting appropriate methodologies to inform recommendations. You will be accountable for meeting your own targets, which impact your immediate team, and may help coordinate the work of junior colleagues. You will meet performance objectives and metrics set locally, including client service, quality and risk management, solution development, and teaming.

The role presents challenges such as working on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation of variable factors, and implementing procedures and guidelines. You'll learn to define and execute deliverables, track project status, and maintain engagement economics reports.

To qualify for the role, you must have
  • Bachelor's degree required (4-year degree) in Accounting or related field; MST, MAcc, or JD/LLM preferred
  • Typically, no less than 2 - 4 years of relevant tax or legal experience
  • Progress toward (or completion of) a valid CPA certification or licensed attorney status
  • Broad understanding and experience with federal income taxation

Ideally, you'll also have
  • Strong ASC 740 and/or IAS 12 experience as well as experience in corporate tax planning and compliance
  • Relevant tax experience or equivalent experience in business or industry with a broad exposure to federal income taxation
  • Experience in client-facing roles with daily interaction.
  • Experience assisting in completion of RFP responses.

  • We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $91,100 to $150,200. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $109,400 to $170,600. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
