We currently have an exciting career opportunity for a Tax Manager to join our Private Client Services Group team located in our New York City office.

CohnReznick is a hybrid firm and most of our professionals are located within a commutable distance to one of our offices. This position is considered hybrid which means team members are expected to be thoughtful and intentional in how they create opportunities for in-person collaboration. While the cadence of in-office presence is determined at the team level, our professionals are encouraged to be in the office/together in person on average 3 days a week.

YOUR TEAM.

This position is rooted within the Private Client Services practice with a focus on tax services for Family Offices and UHNWIs. We work with clients to help them achieve their goals around complex financial matters tied to their business, individual and familial needs. The right candidate will own the attributes of executive presence and emotional intelligence, as well as having a growth mindset. They will also be eager to collaborate on client teams, thought leadership, webinars, and seminars while remaining results focused on assisting both internal and external clients in achieving their wide-ranging goals.

YOUR ROLE.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • The Tax Manager in our Family Office team is expected to have high technical knowledge in review and prepare complex individual 1040 returns, fiduciary 1041 returns, 706, 709, family partnerships, private foundations, entity and foreign filing
  • Experience with client facing, communicating with clients
  • Scheduling work loads
  • Leading engagements, being their point of contact
  • Manage accounts, train, assign work to staff and communicate directly to clients and partners
  • Research topics communicate directly with tax authorities as needed. In addition, they should be able to research more complex topics, go out on proposals and be an expert in the area of individual tax; is able to identify client needs
  • Responsible for billing and collections
  • Mentors and supports the staff

YOUR EXPERIENCE.

The successful candidate will have:
  • Bachelor's or Master's in Accounting/Taxation
  • CPA, JD or EA required
  • 5+ years of experience in a public accounting firm doing PCS work
  • 1+ year of supervisory experience
  • Ability to lead, manage and develop staff in a highly interactive team environment
  • Experience with foreign filing, FBAR and multistate
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Excel
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office, ProSystem, CCH Axcess & Engagement, Caseware and BNA
  • Exceptional organizational, communication and presentation (verbal and written) skills
