As a key member of the Finance Department, the
Tax Manager will oversee the company's indirect and direct tax compliance, tax accounting, and audit management. This role will partner closely with Accounting, Legal, and external advisors to ensure accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and full compliance across multiple jurisdictions. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and eager to build scalable tax processes within a fast-paced, evolving environment. This role is based four days per week in our Los Angeles Support Center.
Key Responsibilities- Manage all direct and indirect tax compliance, including income tax, sales/use tax (GST), personal property tax, and other state and federal filings
- Oversee U.S. multi-state sales and use tax compliance process to ensure tax is accurately collected or accrued and tax return filing/payment deadlines are met
- Coordinate federal and state income tax returns and support quarterly/annual tax provision calculations (ASC 740) with external advisors
- Manage sales & use tax-related inquiries and audits from taxing jurisdictions. Present findings to leadership.
- Partner with all 3rd party delivery partners and update rules in the tax engines to ensure tax is accurately collected
- Monitor tax law changes, assess risks, and recommend actions to ensure ongoing compliance
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Accounting, Legal, and Operations to ensure accurate implementation of policies and reporting
- Manage monthly accounting activities, including reconciliations, accruals, estimated payments, and tax-related journal entries
- Foster a culture of compliance and provide training or support to internal stakeholders as needed
Minimum Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or Master's in Tax preferred
- 5-7+ years of relevant tax experience (public accounting, industry, or combined)
- Strong knowledge of corporate income tax, multi-state sales/use tax (GST), and ASC 740
- Experience managing tax audits and working with external advisors
- Proficiency with tax automation tools (e.g., Avalara, Vertex) and ERP systems
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to build scalable processes and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
