Qualifications

• 5-8+ years of tax experience in public accounting or private industry, focusing on REIT and partnership tax compliance.
• Strong technical knowledge of REIT qualification rules and partnership taxation.
• Experience with multi-state tax filings and apportionment.
• CPA certification preferred.
• Experience in a publicly traded REIT or real estate platform strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel and tax compliance software.

Responsibilities

• Manage REIT compliance, including quarterly and annual testing and distribution requirements preparation and review.
• Oversee the preparation and review of federal and multi-state REIT and partnership tax returns, considering tiered structures.
• Review Schedule K-1s, allocations, and investor reporting to ensure accuracy.
• Ensure timely filing of all REIT, partnership, and corporate tax returns, extensions, and estimated payments.
• Coordinate multi-state compliance, focusing on composite filings and withholding requirements.
• Manage and review deliverables from the internal tax team and external tax advisors.
• Respond to tax notices, audits, and information requests, maintaining compliance protocols.
