Job Summary:

THE ROLE

The LATAM Tax Director owns the tax function for Live Nation Entertainment's Latin American operations (including Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru). This individual contributor sets the regional tax strategy, makes and recommends the tax decisions affecting the region, and is accountable for the accuracy, efficiency and risk posture of direct tax, indirect tax, transfer pricing and global minimum tax matters across all LATAM jurisdictions.

Operating with a high degree of independence, the Director defines how the region responds to a rapidly evolving Latin American tax landscape, determines the positions the company takes on complex and often unprecedented technical matters, and serves as the authoritative tax voice to regional and corporate leadership. Fluency in Spanish is required.

WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO

Regional Tax Strategy & Governance
  • Own the LATAM tax strategy, including the annual and multi-year regional tax plan, and align it with corporate tax, finance and business objectives.
  • Establish the governance framework, policies and controls under which tax is managed across LATAM jurisdictions, and hold the region accountable to them.
  • Determine and document the company's technical tax positions for the region, exercising independent judgment on complex, ambiguous and precedent-setting matters.
  • Own the regional tax risk profile: identify, quantify, prioritize and mitigate exposures, and escalate material matters with a clear recommended course of action.
  • Anticipate and interpret regulatory change (SAT in Mexico, AFIP in Argentina, Receita Federal in Brazil and other comparable authorities), assess business impact, and direct the company's response.

Tax Provision, Compliance & Reporting
  • Oversee LATAM direct and indirect tax compliance - income tax, VAT/IVA and withholding taxes - and ensure appropriate governance and consistency across jurisdictions.
  • Own the tax provision and reporting for LATAM entities under US GAAP and IFRS, including the judgments underlying uncertain tax positions, valuation allowances and effective tax rate drivers.
  • Lead LATAM implementation of and compliance with Pillar Two and Country-by-Country Reporting, including data readiness, modeling of outcomes and the region's filing strategy.
  • Direct the regional tax calendar and set the standard for quality, timeliness and audit-readiness of all filings and disclosures.
  • Serve as the region's decision-maker and technical authority in partnership with the U.S. and global tax teams on matters affecting LATAM.
  • Transfer Pricing & Intercompany
  • Own the tax implications of intercompany transactions across the region and the design and defense of regional transfer-pricing positions.
  • Direct the preparation and maintenance of transfer pricing documentation, local files and intercompany agreements, and approve the methodologies applied.
  • Assess the regional impact of changes to the intercompany operating model and recommend structural adjustments to leadership.
  • Audit & Controversy
  • Lead LATAM tax audits and controversy end to end, including strategy, negotiation posture, settlement recommendations and coordination of consistent positions across countries.
  • Own root-cause analysis of audit findings and drive the process, documentation and control changes required to eliminate recurring exposures.
  • Manage regional tax advisor and external auditor relationships, including selection, scope, budget, performance and resolution of tax matters.

Transactions & Structuring
  • Lead and advise on LATAM tax planning for cross-border transactions, repatriations and cash-movement strategies, and recommend the approach the company adopts.
  • Own tax due diligence for regional M&A and joint ventures, evaluate identified exposures, and advise deal teams and senior leadership on materiality and mitigation.
  • Determine the optimal structure for new entities, joint ventures and market entries, and direct implementation.
  • Evaluate the existing regional structure for tax inefficiencies and lead the design and execution of optimization initiatives.
  • Negotiate tax provisions, permanent establishment protections, and indirect and withholding tax terms in transaction documents, in partnership with Legal.
  • Process, Systems & Controls
  • Lead the tax workstream for the Cumulus SAP rollout across LATAM, setting the standard processes, procedures and best practices for the region.
  • Identify and drive process improvement and automation opportunities enabled by expanded data and ERP functionality.
  • Own the design and operating effectiveness of tax-related internal controls for LATAM, including Sarbanes-Oxley documentation, and guide local teams through financial audit requirements.

Stakeholder Leadership & Influence
  • Act as the senior tax business partner for LATAM, advising regional and corporate leadership on the tax consequences of business decisions and influencing outcomes accordingly.
  • Partner with Finance, Legal, Treasury and Human Resources on payroll tax, permanent establishment, employment structuring and other cross-functional tax matters.
  • Represent the company with tax authorities, external advisors and industry groups on LATAM tax matters.
  • Build regional tax capability by mentoring and developing finance and accounting colleagues across LATAM, and by delegating and reviewing the work of advisors and junior professionals.

Scope & Decision Authority
  • Individual contributor with no direct reports; leads through influence, delegation to external advisors, and direction of in-country finance teams.
  • Sets policy and strategy for the LATAM tax function with a one- to three-year horizon.
  • Operates with minimal supervision; work is reviewed for strategic alignment rather than technical accuracy.
  • Regularly communicates and negotiates with executive leadership, external advisors and tax authorities on matters of material financial consequence

WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Law or a related field; CPA, Contador Público, tax law qualification or Master's in Taxation strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 12 years of progressive international tax experience, including substantial LATAM multi-jurisdiction responsibility gained in a multinational corporate tax department, Big 4, or comparable professional services environment.
  • Demonstrated ownership of a regional or multi-country tax function, including accountability for technical positions, risk and audit outcomes
  • Deep technical command of LATAM direct and indirect tax regimes, transfer pricing, tax treaties, permanent establishment risk and cross-border structuring.
  • Working knowledge of Pillar Two / OECD BEPS 2.0 and Country-by-Country Reporting, with practical implementation experience preferred.
  • Strong US GAAP and IFRS tax accounting and provision expertise (ASC 740 / IAS 12).
  • Proven ability to influence senior and executive stakeholders and to translate complex technical matters into clear business recommendations
  • Experience leading tax workstreams within an ERP implementation (SAP preferred)
  • Professional fluency in Spanish and English required; Portuguese strongly preferred.
