Join Cherry Bekaert as a Tax Director and help middle-market businesses and their owners navigate complex tax matters while identifying opportunities that support their long-term goals. In this role, you will combine technical tax knowledge, client relationship management, and team development to deliver meaningful outcomes for clients while contributing to the growth of our Tax practice.

As a Tax Director, you will:- Lead and develop team members through coaching, mentoring, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities.
- Manage client engagements, workflows, deadlines, deliverables, and communications across a diverse portfolio of tax clients.
- Build trusted relationships with middle-market businesses, partnerships, and high-net-worth individuals.
- Review complex individual, partnership, and business tax returns while providing guidance to engagement teams.
- Advise clients on tax planning strategies related to partnership, estate, gift, and trust matters.
- Identify opportunities to expand services with existing clients and contribute to new business development efforts.
- Consult with clients to gather information, explain tax concepts, and address questions or concerns.
- Monitor changes in federal, state, and local tax regulations and communicate potential impacts to clients and internal teams.
- Maintain organized documentation and support high-quality client service throughout the engagement lifecycle.
- Participate in learning and development activities to strengthen technical and leadership capabilities.
- Contribute to other projects and responsibilities as needed.
What you bring to the role:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required.
- 10+ years of business taxation experience with a Big Four, national, or regional public accounting firm.
- Strong knowledge of C Corporations, S Corporations, Limited Liability Companies (LLCs), and partnerships.
- Experience working with pass-through entity taxation, particularly partnerships.
- Understanding of accounting, finance, budgeting, cost control principles, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and applicable federal and state tax regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams.
- Strong client service skills with a commitment to integrity and professionalism.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with clients.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Proven project management and organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and spreadsheet software.

The salary range for this position is included below.
