Overview

Shimmick is seeking a talented and resourceful Talent Acquisition Specialist to support a growing corporate footprint and project backlog. In this role, you’ll manage full-cycle recruitment processes for professional hires while building strong partnerships with both prospective candidates and internal business leaders. You’ll be a key ambassador for Shimmick, proactively engaging with top talent and showcasing the opportunities our organization has to offer. 

 

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Facilitates and implements all phases of the recruitment process. 
  • Sources, screens, and engages candidates through networking and referrals, proactive sourcing, and direct outreach.
  • Collaborates with department managers to identify accurate hiring needs. 
  • Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization.
  • Assists with job posting and advertisement processes.
  • Assists with the interview process, coordinating candidate travel, attending and conducting interviews with managers, directors, and other stakeholders, as needed.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
  • Travels to company offices and project sites, as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

 

  • BA/BS degree + 2 years of relevant recruiting experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Exceptional organization skills with strong attention to detail; deadline driven.
  • Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills; confident in public speaking and presenting.

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • 2+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience in the construction industry, ideally inclusive of professional-level civil, mechanical, and electrical positions. 
  • Experience hiring craft/skilled trades positions in the construction industry.
  • Agency recruiting experience highly preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with good negotiation tactics.
  • Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of professional roles.
  • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment (OFCCP, etc).
  • Proficiency with applicant-tracking software such as iCIMS and/or UKG, and other recruitment systems such as LinkedIn, ZoomInfo, etc.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Additional Information:

 

  • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.

The salary range for this position is between $90,000 - $110,000 per year depending on experience and/or education.
