Systems Integration Lead

Job Summary

KBR is seeking an experienced career Systems Engineering and Integration Specialist to join our team at our Huntsville, AL, location.  As a Systems Engineering and Integration Specialist, you will provide comprehensive support to Department of War customers to develop radar technologies for integration into air and missile defense system of system architectures. 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Support capability roadmap development, systems integration and test as a liaison on behalf of the Product Offices (PdO) within the SoS community.
  • Coordinate with the Prime contractor(s) for the development and implementation of strategy for integration of PdO products into the U.S. Army integrated fires architecture.
  • Represent PdO interests and respond to RFIs from the U.S. Army Integrated Fires Joint forums, the OCE and similar working groups.
  • Support the development of strategic plans that include product evolution, integration of future systems, and technology development, maturity, and insertions across product lines in a joint/integrated fires architecture.
  • Coordinate/ Support product component technical requirements and maintain product performance capability documents at the product and system level that cross subsystem/major component functional boundaries.
  • Support technical activities to include Systems Engineering Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and Working Groups for the selected product.
  • Support coordination, planning, and task execution for systems engineering and system of systems integration activities to include defining tasks, delineating roles and responsibilities, planning, coordinating, reporting status and risks to customers.
  • Develop working relationships with SMEs various technical areas to support task coordination as situations arise and product lifecycles develop.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to government stakeholders to support model accreditation and decision-making.
  • Provide on-site technical and strategic support at various US Government facilities to represent PdO.

Basic Qualifications

  • Possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science or applicable STEM degree with approximately 5-10 years of experience in a related field.
  • Understanding systems engineering and data analysis methodologies, including development of sound testing methods and applicable criteria, requirements management, and analysis functions, including crosswalks and traceability between models, simulations and weapons systems.
  • Fundamental understanding of physical optics, electromagnetic radiation, and/or radar systems and radar performance principles.
  • Ability to absorb extensive technical detail and logically formulate solutions for execution on prescribed schedules.
  • Able to travel 10-20% of the time. Travel percentages may vary based on customer requirements.
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Possess a Master’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science or applicable STEM degree with approximately 3+ years of experience in a related field.
  • Direct experience with radar hardware, radar architecture, and/or signal processing.
  • 3+ years of experience with Air and Missile Defense systems, data analysis, Flight/Ground tests and system modeling and simulation and/or sensor performance analysis.
  • 3+ years experience working at or with intelligence centers or on threat systems analysis.   
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools for technical documentation and presentations.
  • Understanding of Digital Engineering practices and ability to use MBSE tooling and concepts.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences and author accurate written materials to clearly and concisely communicate information.
  • Ability to operate in a dynamic environment and take on numerous roles as part of program operations requirements.
