THE WORK

Position Overview

Join the Lockheed Martin Rotary & Mission Systems (RMS) Engineering Processes Tools & Training team and work alongside industry-leading experts on mission critical projects. In this role you'll help design, deploy, and sustain cutting-edge engineering tools that operate in secure, air-gapped networks for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Tool Deployment: Install, configure, and validate engineering software tools for use in air-gapped environments, ensuring compliance with security and performance standards.
  • Tool Sustainment: Provide ongoing support for the engineering software tools, resolve issues, and implement enhancements.
  • 1LMX Alignment: Provide support for the 1LMX adoption, collaborating closely with factory partners to resolve issues and implement enhancements.
  • Customer Collaboration: Partner with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements, deliver training, and facilitate successful tool adoption.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Produce clear, detailed documentation-including deployment guides, SOPs, and status reports-to maintain knowledge continuity.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve tool reliability, and incorporate emerging technologies into our air-gapped solutions.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in engineering tool administration/management.
  • Proven track record of delivering high quality customer service and support relationships.
  • Proficiency in UNIX/Linux and Windows system administration.
  • Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities, capable of translating technical details for diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities for complex technical issues.
  • Experience in creating clear documentation, SOPs, deployment guides, and reports.


Desired Skills

  • Engineering tool administration and management of platforms such as Atlassian Jira, Confluence, GitLab, Fortify, SonarQube, Collaborator, etc.
  • Automation expertise: Experience using configuration management or automation frameworks to deploy, configure, and maintain engineering applications in air-gapped or otherwise isolated networks.
  • Containerization & orchestration: Hands-on experience with container technologies and orchestration platforms to deploy, and manage engineering tools and services in a containerized environment.
  • Digital Transformation (1LMX) knowledge: Experience with 1LMX toolsets and the ability to quickly learn additional emergent technologies.
  • Database administration: Experience managing databases that support engineering tools.
  • Off-network / classified environment exposure: Familiarity with the constraints and security requirements of working in non-connected or classified settings.
  • Troubleshooting & diagnostics: Strong ability to diagnose, analyze, and resolve issues across toolchains, container platforms, and underlying compute environments.
  • Self-starter mindset: Thrives in fast-moving, virtual, and distributed team settings with minimal supervision.
  • High self-motivation: Consistently takes initiative, meets deadlines, and drives continuous improvement.


Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $85300.00 - $158300.00

Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market(work location) and business considerations when extending an offer.

  • Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
