Position OverviewDSI is seeking Systems Engineers in Huntsville, Alabama. These positions will perform systems engineering activities spanning requirements development, system design, integration, verification, and validation.
Successful candidates will have experience translating customer and product requirements into complete system solutions while accounting for technical, schedule, cost, and interface constraints. The role requires hands-on experience with requirements management, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and collaboration across software, hardware, test, and other engineering disciplines.
Responsibilities- Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk analysis, and supportability/effectiveness analysis for complex systems.
- Translate customer and product requirements into system-level solutions that account for technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
- Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition.
- Translate system requirements into hardware and software specifications.
- Develop, mature, coordinate, and maintain system, software, and interface requirements.
- Perform requirements decomposition and support system design activities.
- Support system integration and test activities.
- Coordinate with cross-functional engineering teams to develop requirements, track progress, and resolve technical roadblocks.
- Work with key stakeholders to ensure appropriate verification and validation of system and software requirements.
- Apply MBSE methodologies and modeling tools to system development.
- Support automated software requirements testing and analysis.
- Work within an Agile development environment using tools such as Jira and Confluence.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline and at least 5 years of related experience, or Master's degree and at least 3 years of related experience.
- Professional systems engineering experience involving requirements development, decomposition, allocation, integration, and/or verification and validation.
- Experience with IBM DOORS or a comparable requirements management environment.
- Experience with Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Familiarity with Agile terminology, processes, and best practices.
- Experience or demonstrated familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
- Experience with Cameo or a comparable system modeling tool.
- Understanding of system interfaces and the relationship between hardware and software requirements.
- Familiarity with automated software requirements testing and analysis.
- A minimum Interim Secret clearance is required to start.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience supporting Missile Defense programs.
- Experience defining or managing hardware-to-software interfaces.
- Experience working on large, complex DoD systems.
- Experience with SysML and model-based requirements/architecture development.
