DescriptionMarkon is seeking a System Engineer Level 2 to provide technical leadership for the design, integration, testing, deployment, training, and sustainment of mission-critical communications and networking systems for the Fort Meade Customer. This role leads the implementation of packet-based hardware and software solutions utilizing Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) and Government Off-the-Shelf (GOTS) technologies while driving end-to-end systems integration across hardware, software, and network components. The position serves as a senior technical authority responsible for ensuring interoperability, operational performance, system reliability, and mission success across complex enterprise environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, integration, testing, deployment, training, and sustainment of packet-based hardware and software systems
- Support end-to-end systems integration across hardware, software, networking, and infrastructure components
- Develop and implement system architectures, integration strategies, and technical solutions
- Perform requirements analysis, system design, engineering assessments, and technical evaluations
- Conduct system testing, validation, troubleshooting, and operational readiness activities
- Ensure interoperability, performance, reliability, and maintainability of deployed systems
- Develop and maintain engineering documentation, test plans, deployment procedures, and technical artifacts
- Collaborate with Government stakeholders, vendors, engineers, and operational teams to support mission objectives
- Support technology refresh, modernization, and capability enhancement initiatives
- Provide technical guidance and support throughout the system lifecycle
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph with ths customer
- Bachelor27s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field required
- 14+ years of systems engineering, systems integration, or related technical experience
- Experience leading the design, integration, testing, deployment, training, and sustainment of packet-based systems
- Experience with COTS and GOTS hardware and software solutions
- Strong experience driving end-to-end systems integration across hardware, software, and network components
- Experience developing system architectures and integration strategies
- Strong understanding of networking technologies, systems engineering principles, and lifecycle processes
- Experience supporting enterprise, communications, or mission-critical technology environments
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, mission-focused environment supporting complex technical programs
Salary RangeUSD $150,000.00 - USD $170,000.00 /Yr.The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
