The Opportunity:

CACI is seeking a motivated and mission-focused Systems Engineer to join our growing team in Springfield, Virginia. In a dynamic environment with evolving customer needs and operational priorities, success in this role requires adaptability, strong communication skills, and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Support mission-critical operations across two geographically separated locations, delivering specialized communications to users worldwide
  • Collaborate daily with Tier 1 operators, Tier 2 maintainers, customers, and mission partners in a fast-paced operational environment
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for software deliveries, coordinating across multiple development teams and mission stakeholders
  • Lead scheduling and deconfliction of mission-impacting activities to maintain operational continuity
  • Drive improvements in engineering rigor and operational efficiency by identifying and implementing process enhancements


Responsibilities:
  • Review, schedule, and coordinate developer activities on operational systems to minimize mission impact
  • Brief decision-makers on system readiness for software deliveries ahead of key milestones
  • Develop and present monthly Program Management Review (PMR) content, highlighting accomplishments, progress, and risks
  • Provide weekly status reports and summaries to customer stakeholders
  • Review technical documentation and coordinate feedback to developers in support of recurring software releases
  • Track, prioritize, and manage system issues and enhancement requests to ensure timely resolution
  • Produce weekly, monthly, and ad hoc system performance analysis reports; identify trends and recommend improvements
  • Support real-time operations by fielding after-hours anomaly calls, troubleshooting with operators, and escalating issues as needed
  • Author, review, and publish operational and engineering guidance for internal teams and mission partners
  • Collaborate with cross-site teams to improve system performance, reliability, and mission execution


Qualifications:

Required:
  • Active TS/SCI with polygraph clearance (eligibility for higher-level polygraph preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience in a mission operations environment with an understanding of high-tempo operational demands
  • Familiarity with NRO System Integration Standards (NSIS), including milestones, documentation, and review processes
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent software deliveries
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and troubleshooting abilities
  • Experience with configuration management and change management processes
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and 3+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent experience supporting NRO missions)
  • Solid understanding of IT fundamentals, including hardware, software, networking, databases, and virtualized environments
  • Experience briefing customer leadership on system readiness and program status
  • Self-starter with a strong desire to learn, improve, and contribute to mission success


Desired:
  • Experience developing or maintaining Excel macros (e.g., Visual Basic for Applications - VBA)
  • Familiarity with NRO and NGA ground and space systems
  • Experience in system integration, software fielding, or operational test and evaluation environments
