Full Job Description
The System Architecture Engineer leads system development and cross-functional system delivery for Meta's global Design, Construction, and Engineering (DEC) organization. This role sets the technical direction for the systems domain, drives major initiatives from concept through delivery, and serves as the primary technical authority for complex platform decisions - spanning enterprise platforms (Unifier, P6, ACC, etc.), integrations with internal enterprise platforms and services, and data architecture. This person owns the strategy and engineering solution across a system's portfolio, solving complex, high-impact problems in the domain and leading initiatives that define the team and cross-team strategy. They operate as a credible co-owner across cross-functional boundaries - able to independently drive product decisions, engineer technical solutions, design reviews, and technical analyses alongside business leaders, product managers, and data teams.

Responsibilities

Set technical strategy for assigned systems; lead planning, development, and rollout of major initiatives; proactively identify roadmap risks and communicate mitigation plans to leadership
• Drive build-vs-buy evaluations and vendor assessments, providing clear recommendations backed by data and analysis
• Own product KPIs, adoption metrics, and user satisfaction - using data to inform priorities and demonstrate business value
• Develop solutions architecture, functional specifications, and system designs for complex business requirements - including UI workflows, integration patterns, and data architecture
• Lead end-to-end delivery of major system implementations and upgrades; architect integrations within and across applications ensuring data integrity, seamless workflows, and capabilities for analytics and AI
• Use AI tools fluently as a force multiplier; drive AI adoption to automate routine work and improve system quality through AI-assisted workflows
• Set and enforce engineering craft standards; influence the broader team's engineering culture toward higher product quality, efficiency, and AI-accelerated workflows
• Partner with business leaders and cross-functional teams in Enterprise Engineering, Data Engineering, and adjacent DEC teams to drive platform decisions, design reviews, and feature rollouts
• Influence adjacent teams' priorities when dependencies exist - advocating effectively for work that unblocks DEC's systems roadmap
• Communicate effectively across disciplines - explaining technical problems with data and analysis to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Mentor and develop systems engineers - coaching on technical engineering, business context, communications, and partnership
• Build team capability through documentation, training, and standards; contribute to recruiting efforts

Minimum Qualifications
• B.A. or B.S. in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent practical experience
• 7+ years of technical experience in enterprise systems architecture, delivering large-scale system and software development programs from conception through implementation
• 3+ years in architecting and implementing design/construction related systems and related integration tools/APIs (e.g., Oracle Integration Cloud, Autodesk APS, etc.)
• Track record of leading full-cycle implementation projects end-to-end, from problem definition and change management through delivery, both functionally and technically
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems across multiple systems, integrations, and business domains
• Experience with diverse delivery methodologies, including agile
• Experience managing product roadmaps, setting technical direction, and driving feature prioritization with stakeholder engagement
• Experience in system administration of enterprise applications, including user management, security, and configuration
• Experience communicating technical problems with data and analysis effectively across disciplines in writing and presentations
• Experience collaborating with and influencing cross-functional partners across a global organization

Preferred Qualifications
• Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
• Experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager for enterprise software platforms
• Experience with integration engineering and middleware platforms
• Master's degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field
• Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
• Experience prioritizing competing work based on impact, deadlines, and stakeholder needs in a dynamic environment
• PMP, Six Sigma, or relevant enterprise architecture certifications
• Experience with design/construction systems using business applications (e.g., Primavera P6, Procore, Autodesk ACC, Google AppSheets)
• Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
• Experience in Data Center Construction, Network Topology, or Infrastructure industries
• Experience designing and implementing user access controls and security policies in a regulated environment
• Experience collaborating with Business Intelligence or Data Engineering professionals
• Proficiency in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, and Oracle RDBMS stored procedures
• Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
• Track record in user management, including onboarding, training, and support for large user bases
• Experience with AI technologies, including the development and implementation of MCP technology, agentic workflows, and agents
