System ArchitectThe system architecture and technical enablement team, or center of expertise, is supporting this scale-up in building a coherent system design that enables cost-efficient and seamless execution of projects, whether Engineered or Configured to order.
System architects are responsible for the split of solutions and system features into product functions while considering the different project phases, operating and failure modes, always with simplicity, efficiency and design robustness in mind.
To support ANSI market, the System Architecture team is looking for its ANSI System Architect, focused on ANSI market specificities, from its Ecosystem to standards.
What will this architect do:
Pre-sales support- Support country Sales and tendering teams to design Microgrid solutions by helping bridging R&D knowledge, market understanding and application expertise to build customer projects designs
- Support the Center of Expertise tendering manager to identify and specify custom customer projects development needs
- Participate in design and leverage available Software in the Loop and Hardware in the Loop platforms to validate customer project design philosophies, run demos, or run advanced specific testing for projects de-risking
Expertise- Participate in internal and external standardization activities depending on own field of expertise (it can be power systems, aggregator market, control philosophies...)
- Participate in Microgrid System FMEA analysis
- Gather Partners and engineering teams feedback around engineering efficiency, performances and non-functional requirements like configuration or serviceability
- On case-by-case basis, participate in customer project issues analysis (bugs)
- Be a force of proposition for R&D offers and internal process improvements
Enablement- To help accelerate the transactional part of the business, supporting the partner Ecosystem is key, as such this architect will accompany selected partners through their design activities, driving the external growth of Microgrid design competencies
- Participate in trainings activities to further enable Microgrid deployment across countries - not limited to the USA, by for instance help create training materials by bringing specific expertise, or run some training sessions.
Who will you report to?- You will report to the Director of the Microgrid Center of Expertise. This job allows for partial remote work, as such you will be required to report to Schneider Electric Andover (USA-MA) facility office at least 2 full days a week and you can foresee around 10% travel a year.
What qualifications will make you successful for this role?- A bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, computer science or computer engineering
- 5+ years of experience in a related field such as low voltage power systems, medium voltage power system, energy storage, generator control systems, utility distribution systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong presentation and reporting skills
- Experience building or supporting monitoring and control systems architectures
- Experience in automation and algorithms design - programming skills are not required but understanding is a must
- Familiarity with communication protocols and interfaces such Modbus, DNP3 or Rest API, MQTT
- Familiarity with system engineering and modeling

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 117,600 - USD 176,400 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
