Role Description:The selected individual will provide system administration support for a large, complex network environment with geographically distributed systems. The role supports system engineering requests by delivering solutions that meet operational needs, and by upgrading, sustaining, and maintaining existing capabilities. The candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment that includes multiple air-gapped systems, each with its own domain and supporting infrastructure. The position also requires maintaining a complex IT environment involving multiple users, as well as associated storage and network infrastructure. This role requires an energetic, focused, and driven individual who can adapt quickly to changing priorities. The candidate must demonstrate strong system administration and troubleshooting skills and work effectively with the team to execute a variety of network-centric system administration tasks.
Responsibilities IncludeThe selected individual will be responsible for installing applications, administrating systems and processes, and ensuring issues are identified and resolved in a timely manner. She/he will be responsible for ensuring server and desktop configurations are optimized and running continuously and efficiently. The selected individual will also perform security management and application performance optimization functions.
Additional responsibilities may include:
- Administration/sustainment of a system that provides a web-based application for storing, sharing, and distributing information.
- Creating and maintaining complex server enclaves, including analyzing system scanning reports, patching, cert renewals, vulnerability management assessments, and active directory configurations.
- Identifying and correcting hardware and software issues.
- Responding to system administration, operations, and maintenance problems, and developing re-work solutions.
- Creating and maintaining documentation of complex server/network environments to ensure that clear, concise and accurate information is readily available for incident resolution.
- Communicating with users and external support personnel regarding system outages and upgrades, and conferring with upper management regarding recommended resolution options.
Required Skills and Qualifications:- To be eligible for this position you must hold an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
- Bachelor's Degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related technical field and at least 8 years of relevant experience. Additional experience may be substituted for a degree.
- Must have experience as a systems administrator providing direct support to end users and technical staff (developers, testers, engineers, etc.).
- Must be proficient with Windows Server 2019 and Active Directory.
- Must have experience with software/hardware deployment, patches, operating systems, and basic system backup and restore functions.
- Must have experience with/be familiar with SALT, Ansible, Splunk, Puppet, SolarWinds, Nessus.
- Must have experience with and/or have knowledge of Red Hat and VMWare.
- Must have a solid understanding of advanced security protocols and standards.
- Must have experience with both Client and Server virtualization environments.
- Must have experience with installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and reimaging hardware.
- Must have a solid understanding of information security principles and practices.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to support occasional day or short duration travel.
- Ten (10) years experience as a SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from a accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:- Proficiency with SQL Server.
- SALT and Python scripting experience.
- Experience supporting a software configuration management and development environment.
- Experience working in an Agile Development Environment or on an Agile Team.
- Knowledge of PKI systems which use HSMs to validate key and NTP for synchronization.
- Knowledge of PowerShell and PowerCLI.
- Experience in documenting and providing information for security accreditation and certification.
Pay Rate:In compliance with Maryland's Equal Pay for Equal Work law, the annual base salary range for this position is $140,000 - $250,000. This range represents the base pay for this role and is provided in accordance with Maryland's requirements to disclose compensation in job postings. Please note that actual compensation may vary based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's qualifications, experience, education, skills, internal equity, and market conditions. In addition to base salary, candidates hired into this position may be eligible for a hiring bonus of $10,000.00, subject to applicable contingencies and Navstar policy.
