Full Job Description
TITLE: SW Quality Engineer III

LOCATION: Atlanta, GA - On site

At NCR Voyix, we focus on customer outcomes and rapid resolution of reported issues. Within our development organization, the Retail Software Escalation Analyst Team (SEAT) investigates escalated software issues, determines root cause, and drives resolution through triage, technical analysis, and engineering handoff.

As a Software Quality Engineer, you will develop deep expertise across Retail products and operational workflows. You will investigate complex defects across on-premises and hosted solutions that support fuel, grocery, and broader Retail operations.

In this role, you will apply AI-assisted investigation methods to improve investigation speed, consistency, and handoff quality. You will play a critical role in improving customer experience and reducing development-team churn through evidence-based issue classification and clear technical guidance.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain lab environments, VMs, and branch-aligned multi-repository workspaces for defect reproduction and troubleshooting.
  • Organize and analyze Jira escalations to determine root cause and evidence-based issue classification.
  • Coordinate with development teams to hand off identified defects with complete technical artifacts and reproduction details.
  • Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders across Support, Development, PS, Sales Engineering, and customer teams.
  • Continuously evaluate and adopt AI capabilities that improve investigation speed, consistency, and knowledge retention.
  • Partner with Success 360 Advocate team members to align priorities and support escalation working sessions.


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, MIS, IT, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in software quality, software support, or related technical investigation roles.
  • 2+ years of experience in a quality engineering function.
  • Broad technical exposure across software systems, environments, and troubleshooting tools.


ADDITIONAL SKILLS:
  • Retail POS domain knowledge.
  • Experience with POS hardware and software.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply AI tools and continuously improve AI-assisted workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to master complex, multi-product technical systems.
  • Experience with network troubleshooting, hardware setup, and software installation.
  • Strong self-management and ability to handle multiple concurrent priorities.
  • Strong time management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Strong quality mindset and customer-centric approach.
