Full Job Description
As a member of the executive leadership team, the SVP and CHRO will partner closely with the CEO and senior leaders to ensure we have the talent, leadership, culture, and organizational capabilities needed to achieve our business objectives. This role has direct responsibility for the people strategy behind our stores, including workforce planning, staffing models, and training and development for store teams across our footprint.

A significant priority for this role will be leading the transformation of Human Resources into a modern, scalable, technology-enabled, data-driven, and highly effective strategic business partner.

You will have the opportunity to influence enterprise strategy, partner directly with the CEO, build organizational capability, strengthen how we staff and develop our stores, and lead a meaningful transformation of HR, all while helping create a culture where people and business performance thrive together.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and execute an enterprise-wide people strategy aligned with the organization's business strategy and long-term growth.
  • Own workforce planning and staffing models for a large, multi-state store footprint, including seasonal and peak staffing.
  • Build and lead store-facing training and development programs, from frontline associates through store leadership.
  • Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to the CEO and executive leadership team.
  • Lead the transformation and modernization of HR, including people, processes, technology, organizational structure, and service delivery.
  • Build a high-performing HR organization focused on innovation, accountability, continuous improvement, and measurable business impact.
  • Strengthen talent acquisition, leadership development, succession planning, performance management, and organizational effectiveness, with particular focus on store operations talent.
  • Shape and evolve the organization's culture and employee experience to support engagement, retention, and high performance at the store level and across the enterprise.
  • Lead the organization's compensation, benefits, and executive compensation strategies.
  • Use workforce data, analytics, and business insights, including store-level metrics, to inform decisions and measure the impact of people initiatives.
  • Present to the Board periodically on key people priorities, workforce trends, and organizational health.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing HR leadership team and build strong succession within the function.


What You Bring

  • 15+ years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience, including significant enterprise-level HR leadership.
  • Experience building workforce plans and training programs for a large frontline or store-based workforce.
  • Proven experience partnering with a CEO and executive leadership team.
  • Demonstrated success leading HR transformation, organizational change, or HR modernization.
  • Broad HR expertise across talent, organizational development, talent acquisition, compensation, employee relations, HR operations, and HR technology.
  • Strong business and financial acumen with the ability to connect people strategy to measurable business outcomes.
  • Experience leading HR within a complex, multi-unit, multi-location organization.
  • Exceptional executive presence, communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
  • A track record of developing leaders, building high-performing teams, and creating strong organizational cultures.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in retail, consumer, distribution, manufacturing, or another complex multi-unit operational environment.
  • Experience partnering with or presenting to a Board of Directors.
  • Experience leading organizational growth, transformation, or restructuring.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or comparable certification.
