Full Job Description
We are currently seeking an experienced Survey Technician for Computations to join our Survey team in our Baltimore, MD location.

Responsibilities:
  • Download, Evaluate, Adjust and Process raw field data for Geodetic Survey Control Networks including:
    • GNSS/GPS Static Sessions
    • Network RTK Observations
    • Base-Rover RTK
    • Robotic Total Station Traverse
    • Digital Differential Leveling
  • Research and compute/translate existing Survey Control Stations
  • Develop Network Planning Sketches for field work
  • Coordinate Observations with multiple field crews as needed
  • Adjust Observations in Star*Net Least Squares Adjustment
  • Document adjusted network results

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or state equivalency certificate required. Associate's degree, or higher preferred
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Ability to read cursive
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally/written at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments
  • US Citizenship required

Preferred Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • LSIT certification
  • Experience processing MDOT SHA field files in InRoads/Open Roads
  • Experience computing baseline or property boundary geometry in Civil 3D

Physical Requirements (Essential Functions):

This position requires the ability to perform a variety of physical tasks in the field as part of the essential job functions. Duties may include:
  • Walking and navigating across rough or uneven terrain such as mud, rocks, grass, dirt, steep hillsides, heavily wooded areas, and other unpaved surfaces
  • Moving around active project sites, which may involve climbing ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, or poles
  • Performing physical activities such as bending, twisting, kneeling, and climbing
  • Remaining in a stationary position-either standing or sitting-for extended periods of time
  • Repetitive motions involving the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
  • Lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds and/or carting objects up to 50 lbs. distances up to a 1/2 mile.
  • Driving to and from project sites, which may involve distances of up to or exceeding 100 miles round trip.
  • Must be able to function safely in an environment with potential risks, including, but not limited to those described in this document.

The work environment may include exposure to a range of environmental conditions, including high and low temperatures, precipitation, and other outdoor elements. Work may also be performed in noisy conditions or confined/enclosed spaces.

The expected compensation range for this position is $55,000.00 - $125,000 per year. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
