Are you an experienced surgical services professional ready to take the next step in your leadership career?

inReach Healthcare is seeking a motivated, hands-on Surgical Services Director to lead a two-room operating suite at Johnson County Healthcare Center (JCHC) in beautiful Buffalo, Wyoming.

This is a working Director position that offers the opportunity to combine leadership and administrative responsibilities with direct patient care. You'll lead a collaborative surgical team while helping shape the continued growth, quality, and success of surgical services within a community-focused hospital.

The department supports a diverse case mix, including GI, general surgery, and orthopedic procedures, providing variety and an engaging clinical environment.

Job Description:

As Surgical Services Director, you will:

  • Lead and oversee day-to-day operations and patient care within the surgical services department.
  • Provide hands-on patient care as needed while supporting the clinical team.
  • Promote a strong culture of patient safety, quality, teamwork, and accountability.
  • Develop, implement, evaluate, and improve departmental policies and procedures.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and support surgical services staff.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels to meet patient care and operational needs.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, sterile, and fully operational surgical environment.
  • Promote responsible and cost-effective use of supplies, equipment, and resources.
  • Serve as a key liaison between hospital departments, leadership, and external surgical providers.
  • Collaborate with hospital leaders to strengthen communication, coordination, and strategic initiatives.
  • Monitor surgical volume, outcomes, productivity, quality metrics, and departmental costs.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance and grow surgical services.
  • Develop and manage the department's annual budget and monitor ongoing financial performance.
  • Ensure departmental practices align with JCHC policies, professional standards, Universal Precautions, OSHA requirements, and industry best practices.
Compensation & Benefits:

Starting salary of $95,000+ per year, based on education and experience.
