Job Description
Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner - Vascular Surgery & Trauma/Acute Care Surgery

Bakersfield, CaliforniaLevel II Trauma CenterFull-Time

One position. Two surgical programs. Broad clinical exposure.

Surgical Affiliates Management Group (SAMGI) is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to support both our Vascular Surgery and Trauma/Acute Care Surgery (ACS) programs in Bakersfield, California.

This unique position offers the opportunity to work across two complementary surgical services, providing a diverse mix of inpatient care, operating room support, outpatient vascular clinic, trauma and acute care surgery coverage, and postoperative follow-up.

The Opportunity

Join an experienced surgical team at a Level II Trauma Center and teaching hospital, supporting both the Vascular Surgery and Trauma/ACS programs.

Your responsibilities will be divided between the two services based on daily clinical and program needs. This is an excellent opportunity for an APP who enjoys variety, wants to maintain a broad surgical skill set, and is comfortable working across inpatient, operative, emergency, and outpatient settings.

On the Vascular Surgery service, you'll support open and endovascular procedures, inpatient consultations, outpatient vascular clinic, and perioperative care.

On the Trauma/ACS service, you'll assist with the evaluation and management of trauma and acute surgical patients, inpatient rounding, consultations, perioperative management, and coordination with the multidisciplinary trauma team.

Why Bakersfield, California?

Bakersfield offers an accessible California lifestyle with convenient access to the Sierra Nevada, national parks, outdoor recreation, and Southern California destinations.
