Full Job Description
Ensure policies, procedures and all activities are carried out to support BRS goals and objectives at the Site level and in the Product Development and Quality Department as assigned and to focus on the daily health of the vision inspection systems throughout the site. Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Uphold a high integrity for BRS Systems while supporting Quality, Environmental and Safety Systems. 2. Development and implementation of the surface inspection systems with correlation to BRS surface defect criteria and ratings. 3. Assist in training of personnel on surface inspection systems use and functionality. 4. Assist in the development of feed forwarding of defects to upstream units, downstream units, and outside processing. 5. Assist Quality, Production, and other personnel as needed in detection, identification, and troubleshooting of quality issues throughout the mill. 6. Assist Supervision as needed per assignments. Qualifications: 1. Quality and detailed oriented 2. Strong systems knowledge and understanding with the ability to interpret customer specific requirements and specifications 3. Good organizational / time management skills with strong technical and analytical problem- solving abilities 4. Strong communication and computer skills; ability to work independently and ability to work proactively with other departments 5. Master's degree in electrical and/or computer engineering or related discipline, with preferred emphasis or background in machine vision, machine learning, or data science related areas 6. Knowledge and experience in Steel Mills is preferred Working Conditions and Physical Requirements: This position requires the ability to work in an office setting with daily tasks in the mill, which could typically involve extreme environments from hot to cold. This position can require long hours, weekend, and holiday coverage to support routine responsibilities, working remotely, and travel. Competency Summary At U. S.
