Full Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Supply Chain Planner with experience in supply planning, demand planning, procurement, and end-to-end supply chain management. This role is responsible for purchasing, vendor management, forecasting, inventory planning, and logistics coordination to support efficient pharmaceutical production and packaging operations.

The ideal candidate has direct experience with pharmaceutical procurement, demand forecasting, & inventory optimization-as well as a strong understanding of freight operations, tariffs, customs, and regulatory considerations.

Responsibilities

Procurement & Supplier Management

  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers for pharmaceutical ingredients, packaging materials, lab equipment, and other production materials.


  • Manage vendor relationships, performance, and compliance to meet quality, cost, and delivery standards.


  • Maintain an approved vendor list and execute supplier audits as needed.


  • Review and negotiate purchasing agreements, warranties, service contracts, and pricing terms.


Forecasting & Inventory Management

  • Manage demand forecasting for raw materials to account for seasonal trends, reoccurring sales patterns, new product launches, and growing SKU performance


  • Partner with marketing & the pharmacy team to understand business decisions that may impact the consumption of raw materials. Account for these changes within the demand forecast.


  • Translate the demand forecast into an inbound supply plan of raw materials that consistently meets the needs of the business


  • Execute purchase orders against the demand forecast. Manage inbound supply plan at all relative facilities (2-5 locations)


  • Coordinate with the operations team to understand & resolve inventory related pain points such as overstocks, understocks, space constraints, obsolete inventory, and new product launch preparation.


Logistics, Shipping & Inventory Coordination

  • Coordinate domestic & international shipments, including interacting with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and freight carriers.


  • Manage import/export paperwork, customs documentation, and tariff classifications.


  • Monitor global logistics trends and changes in duties, tariffs, and compliance requirements.


  • Track shipments, resolve delays, and manage warehouse receiving.


Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Compliance teams to ensure procurement aligns with operational needs.


  • Support Quality Assurance with supplier documentation, COA's, equipment specifications, and GMP-related records.


Process Optimization & Compliance

  • Optimize supply chain processes to improve cost efficiency, lead times, and risk management.


  • Ensure logistics and procurement activities comply with GMP, FDA, DEA (if applicable), and international shipping regulations.


  • Maintain documentation related to sourcing, machine specs, procurement approvals, and logistics records.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred.


  • 3+ years of experience in demand planning, procurement, supply chain, or logistics, preferably in pharmaceutical or medical manufacturing environment.


  • Strong knowledge of:


    • Demand forecasting


    • Inventory Management


    • Logistics


  • Experience coordinating international freight, customs, tariffs, HS codes, and trade compliance.


  • Proficient in vendor negotiation, cost analysis, and contract management.


  • Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.


Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with GMP manufacturing environments and FDA/USP requirements.


  • Experience working with freight brokers, customs agents, and third-party logistics (3PL) partners.


  • Understanding of equipment validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) and technical documentation.


  • Knowledge of ERP or procurement systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, etc.).
