Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly driven
Supply Chain Manager to build and scale our supply chain operations from the ground up. This role will be responsible for sourcing, procurement, supplier management, and logistics across a complex, regulated environment. You will work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and program teams to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of critical components.
This is a high-impact role ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, moves quickly, and understands the unique challenges of defense procurement.
What You'll Do:Supplier Sourcing & Management- Identify, qualify, and onboard suppliers for mechanical, electrical, and electronic components
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, including negotiating pricing, lead times, and terms
- Monitor supplier performance (quality, delivery, cost) and drive continuous improvement
Procurement & Planning - Own the end-to-end procurement process (RFQs, POs, contract negotiations)
- Collaborate with engineering and production to forecast demand and manage inventory levels
- Mitigate supply risks and ensure continuity of critical materials
Defense Compliance & Regulations - Ensure compliance with ITAR, EAR, DFARS, and other applicable regulations
- Maintain proper documentation and traceability for defense-related components
Logistics & Operations - Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, including domestic and international shipments
- Optimize shipping strategies to balance cost, speed, and security
- Implement systems and processes to scale operations
Cross-Functional Collaboration - Partner with engineering on BOM optimization and design-for-supply-chain
- Support manufacturing with production readiness and material availability
- Work with finance on cost tracking and budgeting
What You'll Need: - 8+ years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or operations (defense, aerospace, or hardware startup preferred)
- Strong understanding of defense regulations (ITAR/EAR/DFARS)
- Experience sourcing complex components (electronics, machined parts, etc.)
- Proven ability to negotiate with suppliers and manage contracts
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, ambiguous startup environment
