Hexcel is currently seeking a Supplier Quality Sourcing Engineer for our Americas sites; preferred location is Salt Lake City, UT, USA with other Hexcel sites considered.
The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:
- Managing supplier quality activities across Americas sites and the direct materials supply base.
- Leading supplier corrective action processes, including containment, root cause analysis, corrective action verification, and closure.
- Conducting supplier and site investigations related to quality, delivery, capacity, and performance issues.
- Performing supplier audits and managing corrective actions through completion.
- Maintaining supplier risk assessments, mitigation plans, action tracking, and status reporting.
- Supporting supplier performance management through scorecards, business reviews, and trend analysis.
- Driving supplier qualification, development, risk-reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Supporting new supplier onboarding, qualification, and production readiness activities.
- Collaborating with Quality, Sourcing, Engineering, Research & Technology, Operations, and suppliers to implement supplier development plans.
- Supporting sourcing, cost reduction, waste reduction, lead-time improvement, and audit readiness initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain Management, or a related technical discipline.
- Two to five years of experience in quality, manufacturing, process engineering, supply chain, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of process mapping, problem-solving techniques, and project management principles.
- Experience applying Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong communication, collaboration, organizational, analytical, and supplier relationship management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, exercise sound judgment, and identify when escalation is needed.
- Ability to travel to supplier and Hexcel locations as business needs require (10-15%).
- Experience in aerospace, composites, or another regulated manufacturing environment preferred
