Job Title: Supplier Quality Engineer

Position Summary

The Supplier Quality Assurance Specialist supports plant quality objectives by resolving supplier-related quality issues, reducing impact to manufacturing operations, and driving effective corrective actions. This role works closely with suppliers and internal departments to evaluate non-conformances, support audits, manage containment activity, and help improve overall supplier quality performance. The position also supports continuous improvement, quality system requirements, and reporting activities that help the Company meet its operational goals.

Position Responsibilities

The incumbent is expected to perform the following functions that the company has determined are essential to this position:
  • Investigate supplier quality issues and support timely resolution to minimize impact to manufacturing operations.
  • Review and analyze supplier non-conformances and communicate findings clearly with internal departments and suppliers.
  • Provide technical support and direction to suppliers and internal teams regarding quality concerns and corrective actions.
  • Conduct supplier audits and follow up on action items to ensure timely and effective responses.
  • Monitor supplier corrective actions for timeliness, effectiveness, and overall quality improvement.
  • Coordinate containment activities and sorting related to supplier non-conforming material.
  • Evaluate supplier quality methods and support improvement of internal quality processes and measures.
  • Partner with Manufacturing and other departments to understand supplier-related cost of poor quality (COPQ) and support countermeasures.
  • Prepare reports and presentation materials for management review and quality-related meetings.
  • Support Hoshin activities, continuous improvement efforts, and Company quality objectives.
  • Help support compliance with applicable quality and environmental system requirements, including ISO/TS and ISO 14001 expectations.
  • Perform work in accordance with Company safety, security, and workplace standards.


Required Skills and Abilities

Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience (automotive, assembly, or similar)
  • Experience in PAPP requirements and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Proven problem-solving skills, including investigating issues at the source and supporting effective countermeasures.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve process, production, or people-related challenges.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.


Education/Training/Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent manufacturing experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
