Our team is looking for a Supplier Performance Specialist to join them. You will report to the Supplier Performance Manager and will have an onsite work structure in Chatsworth, Ca

To be considered for the Supplier Performance Specialist opening, here's what you'll need to bring with you:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3-7+ years of experience in supply chain, materials, supplier management, or operations
  • Experience in Aerospace & Defense or other regulated manufacturing environments preferred
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of Purchase order management, supplier scheduling, lead times, and production-driven supply environments.
  • Familiarity with problem-solving methodologies (8D, RCCA, Lean principles).
  • Strong sense of urgency and execution focus.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.
  • Effective communicator with both internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Data-driven mindset with ability to translate data into actions.


As a Supplier Performance Specialist, you will:
  • Act as the primary point of contact for assigned suppliers impacting site production.
  • Manage daily supplier communications to confirm commits, expedite orders, and resolve shortages.
  • Monitor and act on:
    o Past due purchase orders
    o Late deliveries
    o At-risk supply aligned to production schedules
  • Develop and execute supplier recovery plans for underperforming suppliers.
  • Track progress against recovery milestones and escalate risks or delays.
  • Ensure corrective actions are clearly defined, documented, and implemented.
  • Follow structured problem-solving approaches (8D, RCCA) to address root causes.
  • Actively participate in tiered daily management (Tier 1-3 meetings).
  • Provide real-time updates on:
    o Critical shortages
    o Supplier commits vs. production need dates
    o Recovery status for high-impact suppliers
  • Prioritize actions based on line-down risk and production impact.
  • Track and manage supplier KPIs at the site level:
  • On-Time Delivery (OTD) to need/request date
  • Past due backlog
  • Lead time adherence
  • Quality issues impacting delivery
  • Maintain supplier scorecards and performance dashboards.
  • Highlight trends, risks, and improvement opportunities to the Supplier Performance Manager.
  • Collaborate daily with:
    o Production Planning / Materials (shortage prioritization)
    o Operations (line impact and sequencing)
    o Supplier Quality (defects impacting delivery)
    o Procurement/Buyers (PO management, escalations)
  • Ensure alignment between supplier commitments and site production plans.
  • Identify and escalate risks including:
    o Capacity constraints
    o Supplier delivery instability
    o Quality-related disruption
  • Support escalation process with data, impact analysis, and recommended actions.
  • Engage Supplier Performance Manager when issues exceed defined thresholds.
  • Be primarily site-based with regular engagement across assigned supplier locations.
  • Travel (20-40%) to supplier locations and other company sites as needed.
