- You will serve as the principal advisor to the Director/Commander on all administrative operations and strategic resource planning.
- You will exercise full supervisory authority over the Administrative and Awards Organization.
- You will conduct morning synchronization meetings with subordinate staff to prioritize daily administrative, HR, and logistical tasks and brief the director on budget execution status, critical personnel actions, and facility status.
- You will perform as the Administration and Awards Division Chief by directing, coordinating, and integrating comprehensive administrative, logistical, human capital, and resource management functions across the organization.
- You will align diverse workflows, including human resources, financial planning and budget formulation, to meet strategic mission goals.
- You will establish long-range schedules, assign high-level priorities, and analyze complex operational metrics to mitigate risks and implement command-wide process improvements.
- You will oversee the branch-level budgetary formulation and execution process.

- You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the DCIPS (excepted service) which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.
- This position requires a periodic polygraph examination.
- This position may require a 2-year DCIPS trial period.
- Travel up to 20% of the time.
QualificationsYour resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level (GG/GS-13) or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector, such as:
- Ensures all time-sensitive controlled correspondence is tracked, vetted, and answered completely, accurately, and in a timely manner.
- Orchestrates staff coordination by ensuring that high-priority correspondence and collaborative documents receive comprehensive legal, technical, and policy reviews before senior leadership signature.
- Enforces departmental and administration policy compliance by evaluating staff replies for responsiveness and consistency and assessing downstream impacts on subordinate echelons, external government entities, and private sector partners.
- Serves as a principal administrative advisor to recommend solutions to complex organizational problems, optimize staffing, workflow efficiencies, and resource allocation.
- Provides senior-level coordination with upper and lower echelons and initiates final responses on executive correspondence to ensure flawless alignment with department, administration, and program policy and procedures.
