This position serves as a first level logistics supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to AFLCMC.

Duties

Help

  • Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities at least 25% of the time. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short/long term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work.
  • Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the organization, ensuring that logistics management operations comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. Develops goals and objectives that integrate organization and logistics objectives.
  • Participates in special logistics management operation projects and initiatives and performs special assignments. Identifies the need for special projects and initiates milestones and goals. Evaluates reports by analyzing facts and performing appropriate research and prepares detailed responses.
  • Represents the organization with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective
    working relationships with management levels and all coordinating agencies. Meets with key customer and coordinating officials to assess customer satisfaction, explain organization policy and procedures, and resolve problems that arise.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-02, equivalent to the next to lower grade GS-11 or equivalent in the Federal Service. Specialized experience must include managing life-cycle acquisition logistics and product support; leading a team to execute program milestones; analyzing data to resolve logistics issues; and collaborating with stakeholders to meet mission requirements.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

1. Knowledge of the applicable logistics management principles, concepts, policies, and laws; logistics functions, programs, and systems applicable to the duties of position; sources, responsibilities, and means for providing assistance and advice to resolve logistics problems; and all aspects of integrated logistics support.

2. Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures.

3. Ability to plan, organize, and direct, mentor, motivate and appraise the staff of a small to medium sized organization.

4. Ability to identify, analyze, and translate complex information, make appropriate judgments, and evaluate options.

5. Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.

6. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.

This is an acquisition demonstration project position NH-03 equivalent to a GS-12 to GS-13.
