Job Duties- Supervises staff performance including coaching, counseling, discipline, and performance evaluations of designated staff.
- Supervises and Administers radiation treatments as prescribed, builds treatment calendars and performs daily treatments. Obtains patient history, answers patient questions, explains procedures and assists with scheduling.
- Identifies the need for and initiates collaboration with physicians, ancillary personnel, and other interdisciplinary members
- Provides and assists direct/indirect patient care to complete Ct-Simulation procedures and /or other treatment procedures
- Participates in the development of departmental procedures.
- .Reinforces recommendations given to patient by the physician, nurses, dietician, etc., concerning reaction to treatment and care of the radiated area, prevention or treatment of generalized and local side effects. Observes patient for any unusual reactions or events
- .Monitors radiation equipment inventory and follows all safety regulations regarding radiation exposure
- Ensures designated area complies with hospital policy and any applicable governmental regulatory bodies.
- Prepares and/or administers contrast as prescribed under the direction of a Radiation Oncologist.
Minimum Qualifications- Specialized Diploma in radiation therapy program.
- 4 years of experience as a radiation therapist with strong leadership, problem-solving, organizational, technical, and patient care skills.
- T - Radiation Therapy - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Upon Hire and
- BLS - Basic Life Support AHA - American Heart Association Upon Hire
Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3 years of experience in a leadership role in radiation oncology.
Physical DemandsLift and carry 40-50 lbs. Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift. *Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
