POSITION OVERVIEWThe Processing Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading the safe and efficient execution of preventive, corrective, and emergency mechanical maintenance activities for the processing plant. This role ensures maintenance work is completed on schedule to maximize equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and support production objectives while maintaining compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
The Processing Maintenance Supervisor provides daily leadership to maintenance personnel, coordinates contractors and vendors, manages maintenance resources, and supports continuous improvement initiatives. This position is accountable for achieving departmental performance goals related to safety, equipment availability, maintenance execution, quality, and cost while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES- Safety & Compliance: Promote and enforce compliance with all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including MSHA standards.
- Maintenance Execution: Plan, coordinate, and supervise preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities for fixed plant equipment.
- Work Management: Ensure maintenance work orders are properly planned, executed, documented, and closed in a timely manner.
- Equipment Reliability: Monitor equipment performance and implement maintenance strategies that improve reliability, reduce downtime, and support production targets.
- Planning & Scheduling: Support the development and execution of short-term and long-term maintenance plans, shutdown schedules, and outage activities.
- Resource Management: Allocate labor, equipment, and materials to meet maintenance priorities while maintaining cost-effective operations.
- Contractor Oversight: Coordinate and supervise contractors, vendors, and service providers to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards.
- Inventory & Materials: Monitor spare parts inventory, critical spares, and material availability to support maintenance activities.
- Budget Support: Monitor departmental spending and provide input into maintenance budgeting and cost control initiatives.
- Leadership & Development: Supervise, coach, mentor, and develop maintenance technicians to improve technical skills, productivity, and overall team performance.
- Performance Management: Establish clear expectations, conduct performance evaluations, provide ongoing coaching, and identify training needs.
- Field Leadership: Maintain a strong field presence to verify work quality, reinforce safe work practices, and address operational issues in real time.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes, equipment performance, reliability, and operating costs through best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with operations, engineering, planning, procurement, and other departments to support production and maintenance objectives.
- Reporting & Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance reports, KPI tracking, and maintenance records.
- Computer Systems: Utilize SAP and Microsoft Office applications to manage work orders, maintenance records, inventory, and reporting.

POSITION REQUIREMENTSRequired- Minimum of 5 years of industrial processing or fixed plant mechanical maintenance experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of maintenance principles, equipment reliability, and best practices for fixed plant processing equipment.
- Proven ability to plan, coordinate, and execute maintenance activities in a mining or heavy industrial environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills.
- Experience managing contractors and vendor relationships.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
Preferred- Three or more years of maintenance supervisory or leadership experience.
- Experience using SAP or similar computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering background.
- Experience supporting continuous improvement, reliability engineering, lean maintenance, or asset management initiatives.
- Previous experience in mining, mineral processing, or other heavy industrial operations.
WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS- Approximately 70% field work and 30% office work.
- Regularly walk on uneven ground, elevated platforms, stairs, and industrial work areas.
- Frequently work around operating processing equipment and heavy machinery.
- Ability to climb ladders and access elevated work areas.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, and work in confined spaces as required.
- Ability to work in hot, cold, dusty, and humid industrial environments.
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- May be required to respond to maintenance issues outside of normal working hours.
