To supervise employees working in the assigned areas of responsibility within the ConfigurationDepartment. Maintains the accuracy and completeness of assigned projects and programs perPartnership and State of California Medi-Cal guidelines and department director instruction. Developsand executes program improvements aligned with strategic priorities. To provide overall projectsupport for planning, implementation, testing, and coordination of configuration enhancementwork plans. Develops reports and presents information to Configuration department leadership.Provides leadership, coaching, and coordination for assigned Partnership projects and programs.Responsible for execution and ongoing development of the Configuration training and auditprograms.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provides daily direction to direct reports and is responsible for supervision, includingtimecards, performance discussions, mentorship, and development plans. Interviews and participates in the selection of qualified candidates for Configuration staff. Supervision of system configuration activities and projects Reviews, approves, and provides feedback on completed system changes andenhancement work plans received from the configuration staff to ensure compliance withproject approval and specifications. Ensures configuration projects are completed timely/within compliance deadlines. Provides technical support and guidance for the Configuration training and audit program Supports configuration staff in development, design, and completion of enhancementwork plans on assigned projects. Reviews, modifies, and maintains as appropriate, the capitation and fund subsystemsbased on Partnership policies and contracts. Coordinates all changes with Partnership Financedepartment. Reviews State of California Medi-Cal OILs/routine Medi-Cal policy updates toimplement system changes required to ensure Partnership compliance with DHCS policyrequirements Reviews DHCS All Plan Letters (APL) to implement system changes required to ensurePartnership compliance with DHCS policy requirements Ensures project inventories are accurate and completed within established departmentgoals. Reports status and progress on all configuration projects to the ConfigurationManager and Director. Monitors Configuration staff assignments and assigns configuration projects to staff. Ensures Partnership system configuration modifications and enhancements are accurate andcompleted within established department goals.
Responsible for accurate maintenance of system configuration library and timelycommunication of changes to impacted Partnership departments for all assigned Partnership projectsand programs. Communicates and coordinates all system related changes with IT department. Participates and assists in the preparation of materials for monthly interdepartmentalconfiguration meeting. Other duties as assigned.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities
Performs other duties as assigned. Provides backup support for Configuration staff functions.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred; prior supervisoryexperience in a claims environment; or equivalent combination ofeducation and experience preferred; three (3) years of experienceanalyzing and configuring claims system; or equivalent combination ofeducation and experience.
Special Skills, Licenses and Certifications
Knowledge of AMISYS Advance or similar claims payment systempreferred. Understanding of claims processing requirements and abilityto translate into systems change and reporting requirements preferred.

Excellent analytical skills to rationally resolve complex policy andtechnical problems. Excellent written and oral communication skills.Ability to present statistical and technical data in a clear andunderstandable manner. Ability to articulate technical concepts withboth technical and non-technical vendors, peers, and trainers. Excellentorganization skills to work on multiple assignments simultaneously,prioritize work, and complete projects within established time frames.
Work Environment And Physical Demands
Ability to use a computer keyboard. More than 70% of work time isspent in front of a computer monitor. Must be able to work in a fastpaced environment and maintain courtesy and composure when dealingwith internal or external customers. When required, ability to move,carry, or lift objects of varying sizes, weighing up to 10 lbs.
