Job Description:

Production Supervisor (Cynthiana, KY)

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Production Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Direct management and supervision of 20 - 50 production employees across five production departments

  • Candidate must be willing to work a fixed night shift

  • Approve and close production reports to ensure production reporting accuracy (in areas where applicable)

  • Ensure administrative services such as audit standards, vacation planning, and overtime, etc. are implemented and documented appropriately

  • Facilitate and oversee weekday overtime coverage; fill weekend OT assignments as needed

  • Recognize, document and help resolve any safety or ergonomic issues to maintain a safe work environment

  • Complete safety incident reports as necessary with follow-up to maintain a closed loop on safety

  • Conduct performance evaluations or administer disciplinary corrective action to resolve personnel issues

  • Continual development of employees in the areas of safety, quality, technology, leadership, productivity, and yield through coaching, training, and performance management

  • Provide daily management of departments in the areas of safety, quality, service, people flow, and material flow using leader standard work and lean audits

  • Troubleshoot equipment and quality problems using root cause analysis techniques and establish corrective action plans to eliminate all types of waste, coordinating efforts with process engineers and plant maintenance personnel

  • Provide strong leadership and effective communications to the crew to promote team work, provide alignment with plant goals, lead continuous improvement teams and enhance morale across the entire organization

  • Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, and holidays as needed

Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start)

  • Three (3) years of experience in a manufacturing environment in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Bachelors degree or higher form an accredited university

  • Previous management and/or supervisory experience

  • Five (5) years of experience working in a manufacturing setting

  • Excellent leadership, communication, problem solving, mechanical, computer, administrative, and short-term planning skills

  • Knowledge of process equipment such as coaters, slitters, compounding and solvent recovery.

  • Experience working with the Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance and regulations

  • Experience working with hazardous materials regulations

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma principles

  • Excellent organization skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments

  • Good people skills including the ability to work effectively in a team environment

Work location: Cynthiana, KY

Travel: May include up to 5% domestic/international
