SUPERVISOR, HARDWARE RELIABILITY (STARLINK)At SpaceX we're leveraging our experience in building rockets and spacecraft to deploy Starlink, the world's most advanced broadband internet system. As a Supervisor on the Starlink Hardware Reliability team, you will lead a group of technicians and specialists responsible for root causing production failures on Starlink hardware. You will own the day-to-day operations of the production root cause lab and drive improvements that directly enhance product reliability and manufacturing quality.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of reliability technicians and specialists performing root cause analysis on electrical systems and PCBAs
- Drive root cause findings into actionable improvements with manufacturing and design teams to reduce failure rates and improve yield
- Own day-to-day operations of the production root cause lab, including technician scheduling, equipment maintenance, lab organization (5S), and resource planning
- Develop and implement new processes and tools that improve the team's ability to efficiently and accurately root cause electrical failures
- Establish clear priorities across multiple shifts and ensure timely communication of findings and recommendations to production stakeholders
- Define and track team performance metrics and key indicators, holding the team accountable to measurable outcomes
- Identify development opportunities for team members that align with both individual growth and Starlink program goals
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 3+ years of quality or reliability experience in a manufacturing environment
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:- Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, aerospace engineering, or related technical field
- Demonstrated experience performing root cause analysis on electrical systems and PCBAs with expertise in diagnosing and resolving issues related to solder joint quality, component failures, and manufacturing/assembly defects
- Experience training, mentoring, and developing technicians or junior engineers
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, highly iterative environment with rapidly changing priorities
- Strong track record of influencing cross-functional teams through data-driven analysis and clear communication
- Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and drive completion of work across a team
- Experience jumping into ambiguous problems and driving them to resolution
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in consumer electronics, aerospace, automotive, or other high-volume hardware manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with quality management systems (ISO 9001 or equivalent)
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:- Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and offsite as needed
