Purpose of PositionThe 3D Environment Manager is responsible for leading a production team supporting the creation and delivery of the 3D Environment. They manage personnel, assign work based on team capabilities and project deadlines, and actively monitor workload, budgets, quality, and progress to identify issues before they affect delivery. The Manager uses production performance and quality data to evaluate employee capabilities, identify training needs, and support employee development and performance management. They are responsible for keeping their team appropriately utilized, ensuring work is available and progressing as expected, and coordinating with other 3D Environment Managers and supporting teams when project needs require adjustments. They also provide operational feedback to the Creative Strategy team when recurring tools or process issues are affecting production.
Tasks and ResponsibilitiesThe following duties are essential to the successful and satisfactory performance of this job. Other duties may be assigned.
- Lead and manage an assigned team supporting the production of the 3D Environment.
- Assign work based on employee capabilities, available workload, project requirements, and deadlines.
- Monitor team workload and identify upcoming capacity or workload shortages before employees run out of assigned work.
- Review team progress regularly through Jira and direct communication to identify budget, schedule, quality, or performance concerns early.
- Rebalance assignments and coordinate with other 3D environment Managers when changes are needed to keep work on schedule.
- Monitor team performance against production budgets, deadlines, and quality expectations.
- Track production results and maintain accurate employee skill rankings across applicable content creation tasks.
- Identify skill gaps and coordinate additional training or retraining when needed.
- Evaluate employee performance following retraining and adjust work assignments or recommend additional performance action when appropriate.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to employees.
- Recommend employee promotions, recognition, development opportunities, or corrective action based on demonstrated performance.
- Participate in interviews and provide hiring recommendations to the Database Creation Manager.
- Coordinate formal correction action with the Database Creation Manager and HR when appropriate.
- Approve PTO and timesheets and monitor employee attendance.
- Identify recuring production, process, or tool issues affecting the team and provide feedback to the Creative Strategy team.
- Communicate production risks, staffing concerns, and other significant issue so the Database Creation Manager.
- Maintain clear communication with Project Leads, other 3D Environment Managers, and supporting teams to keep work progressing toward delivery.
Minimum Education- B.S or B.A. Degree focused on Computer Graphics or Technical Writing preferred.
Minimum Experience- Additional 5 years of experience in a relevant field beyond minimum education requirement.
