This Opportunity
WSP is currently initiating a search for a Supervising Track Engineer for our offices in Kansas City, MO. Your Impact
Provide design leadership for track design and integration of railroad and transit design projects and pursuits.
Coordinate and lead engineering efforts on all stages of rail infrastructure projects ranging from planning to design to construction and maintenance support.
Establish and maintain strong, effective relationships with external clients and market WSP services to local railroads and transit agencies.
Sustain the growth of younger engineers by assigning appropriate technical tasks and promoting a culture of expanding technical excellence.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or closely related discipline.
7 to 10 years of relevant post education experience in engineering and prior transit and rail experience.
Professional Engineering license required.
Proficient with transit and rail engineering principles, practices and processes.
Proven ability to deliver railroad and transit design projects in the role of lead designer.
Demonstrated verbal and written communications skills. This includes the ability to present design concepts and principles in verbal and written form to audiences with a wide spectrum of backgrounds, from technical manager to ordinary citizen.
Knowledge and experience with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management; including active involvement in a variety of rehabilitation and new design projects.
Demonstrated high-level of self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
Works independently with minimal oversight and provides guidance and leadership to junior team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC.
Highly proficient with technical writing, office automation, discipline-specific design software (i.e., MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, OpenRail), technology, math principles, spreadsheets, and tools.
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Engineering.
