SUPERINTENDENT
Peninsula (SF Bay Area) | Full-Time | On-Site | $160,000 - $190,000 | Anticipated Start: Q1 2027
Were seeking an experienced Superintendent to join our team in anticipation of several upcoming projects throughout the Peninsula beginning in Q1 2027. The Peninsula is where W. L. Butler was founded and continues to be one of our strongest markets, with longstanding client relationships and a strong pipeline of work throughout the region.
Were looking for someone who takes ownership, follows through on commitments, and isnt afraid to tackle problems head-on. The right person is practical, collaborative, and focused on keeping projects moving while supporting the teams around them.
Experience managing complex commercial construction projects such as retail, healthcare, education, office, industrial, multifamily, or data centers is highly valued. Our work includes a mix of occupied renovations, tenant improvements, and ground-up construction across a variety of markets and clients. Candidates who currently live in the Bay Area are strongly preferred.
WHAT YOULL DO
- Lead day-to-day field operations from startup through closeout
- Develop and maintain project schedules, including weekly look-aheads and coordination meetings
- Coordinate subcontractors, inspections, material deliveries, and jobsite logistics
- Maintain a safe, organized, and compliant jobsite culture
- Ensure quality standards are met and work is completed in accordance with plans and specifications
- Proactively identify and resolve field issues before they impact schedule or budget
- Partner closely with Project Managers to support schedule, budget, and client objectives
- Maintain accurate project documentation using Procore and other project management tools
- Build strong working relationships with clients, design teams, trade partners, and field personnel
WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR
- 8+ years of experience as a Superintendent or similar field leadership role in commercial construction
- Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, means and methods, and all major trades
- Proven ability to lead subcontractors and coordinate complex project activities
- Experience managing occupied facilities, phased work, or highly client-facing environments is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- OSHA 30 certification preferred
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred
- Experience with Procore and construction scheduling software
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
